I was driving home after eating out and this bunny jumped out on the street from behind a recycle bin. I saw from the rear view mirror it was limping away. Probably somewhere with a broken leg...
Its the same bunny that visits our backyard. :(

Eh, circle of life; something will get it and put it out of it's misery.

So that's what happened to Censor...
Don't mind me, inside joke.
OT: Don't feel bad; It happens to a lot of people. Plus, just be glad you didn't run over your own cat and see its organs displayed all over the road. =\

I almost ran over a turtle, had to swerve, luckily no one was in the opposite lane.
Unless you've positive that there's nobody else around (other cars/pedestrians) you should never swerve to save an animal on the road. Sure you can break or whatever to avoid it but don't put others in risk.
I would always hit the animal in question unless I was sure the area is clear.

When I was about 12 or 13, my dad ran over a turtle. He would have tried to miss it, but neither of us noticed it until it was too late to do anything.
The sound of it made me die a little inside.

I remember when my dad ran over a turtle by accident, even I felt bad for a while after, and I was just in the car at the time. He was really upset for a while. It's just one of those unfortunate accidents, though; happens all the time. You should only feel like crap if you did it on purpose, heh.
I remember this social study that really !@#$ed me off. A person put a few fake snakes in the road, and he saw people going out of their way to hit them. A police officer even backed up to run over the "snake" again. People are stupid.
I take it they were fake snakes then. Thing is, people see snakes as "dangerous" so killing them would probably make them feel safer...somehow. I for one, would like to put the people who ran over them on the road and run over them :D
