I will only add my husband's account, and only to see how it works.
Otherwise? NO WAY. And my kids will be informed what it is, and not to mess with it in any form, or their account goes bye-bye permanently. Extreme? Maybe, but when it comes to my kids that's how it is.
Since Blizz couldn't be bothered to implement an "opt-out" or *any* form of parental controls, I have to create my own, and if it comes to deleting an account, so be it.
You can't delete an account.
OT - Yes! But only for my Sister and my irl friend. Hurray for cross-realm talking.
You can
And btw i think i read somewhere that they would change the parental controls so you could turn realID off or something, not sure on that though.

My account name will be exposed to everyone who has my RealID. I cannot trust those people to keep their accounts secure, so I will NOT be using RealID. My account will only be as secure as the weakest link, and I'd prefer to be in control of that link thank you very much.

no it won't unless your friends all have eidetic memories
Can people please stop whining about the system if they're unable to read the FAQ and see how it actually works?
Edit: And if you're really, REALLY that ^&*!ing paranoid about it, have them give you theirs?

Well screw me for not reading the FAQ myself, then. I still won't use it though. The "friends of friends" feature has more control over the information I reveal to others than I would prefer. The ability to turn off "friends of friends" is the ONLY thing that can convince me to use the system.

I'm going to use it, no doubt.

So I take it you don't use ANY social networking sites?

Nope. Don't need it, don't care about it, and I agree about the 'friends of friends' needing an opt out.
While I do use one social networking site, I opt out of 'friends of friends' being able to look at my information. I'm not interested in looking at the pages of friends of friends (ie people who I don't know and don't care about), and I prefer to keep my info restricted to my friends only.

No. There exist at least two people that I could plausibly use it with, who don't know each other. is an insultingly bad implementation
I don't mean to be a troll, but what on Earth are you hiding? You seem awfully adamant that these two people who don't know each other should positively under no circumstances ever be made aware of each other's existence. I understand the legal name and login ID complaints, but your aversion to friends-of-friends seems to go beyond reasonable sentiments to my mind.
His girlfriend from his wife maybe?
I'm testing it with my wife and a former roomate. If we like it, I may expand it a bit.

I like my privacy. I don't want to have to explain why I'm off on an alt when I don't feel like it. People I know have my number, and then there's vent.

She starts asking me how I could possibly have X as a friend, and causes a fight. She also sends messages to X, who sends messages back to Y... and there's me, caught in the middle.
Social drama. It's my reason for a decided
HELL NO!
to the original question.
"hey, leave me out of your stupid fighting, take it up with yourselves"

If they're willing to end a friendship with you based on who you knew, they weren't much of a friend, tbqh

As long as you can't opt out of friends-of-friends, I will never use it, and as soon as the battle.net site is working, I will try to ensure that I am totally and completely opted out of it, and never have to hear about it again.
I will not seriously consider it until:
1. It uses some identifier other than legal name.
2. It does not require the use of your battle.net
login name
as the invite key.
3. The friends-of-friends feature is made optional.
Until then, I will not use it, not even with my spouse. This is an insultingly bad implementation of a feature that every other gaming network in the world did a better job of on their first try. If Blizzard ever remembers that I am their customer and facebook is not, they may produce a feature I could safely use.
Seconded on all parts (save the spouse thing, of course). The inability to maintain privacy while allowing inter-game communication is really shameful. I will never use this in anything approaching its current configuration.
