(( Right on time this time. ))
It took several hours, but the Argent Crusade commanders based in Zul'drak finally decided on a course of action. The Scourge had all but been defeated in the southern section of Zul'drak, leaving the only real threat the trolls to the north - the few that remained, anyway - and the Scourge that had managed to slip through into the upper tiers of the city. By leaving the Ebon Blade to deal with the Scourge to the south - a suggestion that they quickly agreed to - the Crusade was able to pull a massive number of troops out of the area back to the Argent Stand. There they organized them into a fighting force, one that now marched north to deal with the approaching necropolis.
William and Brekk, as a reward for discovering the Scourge's plot, were put in charge of the march. The other commanders were busy assisting the Ebon Blade in keeping on eye on the Scourge, filing paperwork, and other tasks ranging from the seemingly mediocre to the heavily important. Linmarion and Madisson had also been assigned important roles in the small army, at the request of the two paladins.
As the force of the living passed Zim'torga, William peered into the distance, seeing a mass of movement underneath the floating necropolis - both of which were steadily moving towards them. "Brekk," he said, "could you loan me your spyglass?
"Aye," Brekk said, passing the other paladin a bronze tube with glass on each end.
William held it up to his eye, looked into the distance, and immediately swore. He saw hundreds of Scourge troops - the total amount possibly surpassing double what the Argent Crusade had - moving towards them. Clearly the necropolis had somehow managed to call in reinforcements. "Prepare the troops," William said to his dwarven friend. "We've got a long battle ahead of us."
Brekk nodded and turned to the Argent Crusade soldiers, yelling orders to "form up" and "prepare for battle." Meanwhile the Scourge swarmed forward, looking as if they would overtake them at any moment. However, the mass of the undead stopped several yards away from the living army.
There was an uneasy silence as neither army acted against the other, the only movement coming from the Scourge necropolis as it settled over the undead army. A few minutes later the Scourge began to move, but not to attack. The lines began to part as if they were making a path for someone.
Finally the front lines move, making way for what appeared to be a lich bated in flames to pass by. His glowing red orbs scanned over the assembled living, and finally rested on William. "
Sir William Black
," the burning creature rasped, "
paladin of the Alliance, welcome to Zul'drak
."
William just glared at the skeletal creature. "Oh, come now," The undead continued. "I haven’t ordered by minions to attack you, I merely wish to speak."
"Who are you?" William asked bluntly, one hand resting on the hilt of his sword - his shield already strapped to his arm.
"
Nalor Firewalker
," the fire-engulfed lich replied, "
flame-lich of the Scourge
." Silence covered the next few moments, to Nalor took it upon himself to continue speaking. "
As it is clear you have no intention of carrying on the conversation, I will get straight to the point. I would hate to see so many good bodies go to waste, so, in the better interests of both of our forces, I want you lay down your arms and submit to the fold of the Scourge
."
A peel of laughter went through the ranks of ht Argent Crusade, but William silenced it with a hand gesture. "I don’t know what death did to your brain, but you're severely mad if you actually think I'll accept those terms for myself, less the soldiers behind me."
"
Of course
,” Nalor replied with a chuckle. ”
So maybe you'll accept these
."
The flame lich waved his hand and, as he did, a torrent of memories filled William's mind. He saw Stormwind, a house, a woman, a child. All nothing more then pictures, but all telling partial stories and making him crave more.
"I've studied magic for a... considerable time, Sir Black," the lich continued. "I've created spells that can erase a memory, change a personality, and even destroy an entire army. For my, brining a memory back to the surface of one's mind is a trivial task." He flexed his boney fingers. "I cannot stand you living, fleshy mongrels, but what I offer you here, William, I will deliver. Surrender your soul to me - to the Lich King - give your army to the grasp of undeath, and I will restore every memory you lost. You've searched your whole life for answers, and there they are. None other can give you what I offer you now."
There was a long pause as William mulled over the lich's words. The answers to who he was, all within his reach, but his duty to the Light standing by his side. The choice should have been easy, but it wasn't. Nevertheless, he made it.
Slowly, William dismounted. Once on the ground he dropped his sword and shield and began to walk towards Nalor.

>_> Plot twists zomg. DAMN TRAITOR!
You have a couple of typos, such as 'ht' instead of 'the' and a couple of words which don't need capitalising eg. 'Silence' instead of 'silenced', but nothing major. :P

Writer's Commentary:
As I was thinking about the next few pages, I realized that I'd never truely hit on William's most key feature: memory loss. Being as that was an important part of his character. Needless to say, it turned out much better and very much more surprising then I had thought (in my opinion, at least).
However, the way I see it, three things can happen now:
William can join the Scourge.
William can join the Scourge, then wake up and realize it was all a dream.
Chuck Norris intervenes and I cancel TFN.
The first two are more likely, but we'll have to see what happens.
