Picking up warlock again, some help getting facts straight

Planning on parking my hunter (almost full icc25(hc) gear) for a while and picking up my 80 lock again. Never played the fella hardcore but want to start doing that soon.
This is him at the moment
, after switching to some pvp. But I'll be going pve with him again.
Spec I want to go with is affliction because a lock in my mind is a dot class, or is another spec way more raid worthy?
Is
this one from the sticky
still up to date? And do you still use a succy? Both sound and look a bit outdated to me.
Gemwise, double colored ones wit sp and either haste or crit?
Spells: Keep fel armor and glyph buff up. Start with shadowbolt+haunt for some Shadow Embrace stacks? Then keep dots up, filler SB till 25% then drain soul?
That still correct?
Anything else I should be aware of?

the spec (and glyphs) you linked are out of date.
read the FAQ (linked in my sig) for constantly updated info. all your questions are covered there.

hmm, while destro on blood beasts is certainly good i'm not sure that's a good enough reason to be making a decision on spec.
fmatt made a
sticky thread
covering each current-content encounter and detailing the pros and cons of each spec. since the info is there and presented in such a detailed way i would resist the urge to give similar advice in a couple of sentences.
i play demo for all fights except saurfang HM when i play destro so i do agree that destro is good for that but it is far from the only consideration.

totally agree that every well organised raid should have a rDPS geared demo lock.
remember that destro brings a replenishment and a HP buff (if no warriors).
demo and affliction bring ISB.
affliction brings spirit and int buff (if no mages/priests).
demo and destro bring CoE without great loss while affliction has to give up a strong DoT.
basically, demo is the complete package. DP, ISB, CoE and competitive DPS.
destro has replenishment and burst.

one would certainly hope so. one would also hope that the raid has plenty of replenishment sources without needing to ask for it from warlocks but the fact that demo and destro don't give up much damage by applying CoE could definitely be attractive to some 10man raiding locks.

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention I raid in 25 mans, some 10's on the side but 25 is the main focus. Cleared LK now doing as many hard modes as possible :)
So our raid buffs are usually in order, we just have been troubling finding a reliable warlock for the team and we have 3 (including me) very steady hunters.
Thanks for the updated FAQ much appreciated *thumbs up*

praise is always appreciated, thanks ^_^
if your raid group really struggles to find well geared locks then demo's
DP buff
may be the overriding factor. if your group doesn't usually have this buff (or has the weaker elemental totem) then your casters and healers will thoroughly appreciate you going demo.

The trouble with that is that atm we have a new warlock who is demo, but not sure how reliable his attendance will be. But of course that can't be answered by you guys from the forum :)
