In decemer last year (2009), I bought the original wow (Vanila) CE off of e-bay.
This month, I tried to type in the 26-digit code but it was invalid...
I found it was because I live in Europe with an EU account and I bought the US version (DOH, /facepalm, yes I know, I was really, really stupid there). It wasn't in the description, that it only worked in US. Maybe the seller didn't know it himself...
I contacted the blizztech support and after looking into it, they said that the code had already been used... In the e-mails I sent code and the e-mails I got from the seller from e-bay..
What do you guys think really happened, and what can I do?
Was I tricked by the "trusted" seller?
Was it someone at blizz who saw the opportunity to snatch my code?
Of course E-bay doesn't keep records of sales more than one month old.. I would assume it is to avoid trouble and complications like my case...
PS: Some information that might help
The seller was/is a very, very trusted seller on e-bay, according to other buyers, and according to him, the box had only been opened once (by himself) to take pics from the contents inside.
It's status on e-bay was MINT - complete, but not new. (fits well as it is 5 years old)
I e-mailed the code to blizzard's tech support, hoping they could give me another code...
I doubt it, but can it be that an employee grabbed the chance and used the key for himself?
Atm, I am waiting for a reply from blizz..
What do you think? I know, in the end it was probably my own fault. But what can I do now?

Did the Ebay seller specifically state it as NEW. WHen i bought my copies of WoW and the expansions from eBay i always emailed the seller and asked them directly "Have you used to code inside".

The seller said (and the status on the item) was MINT which means it wasn't new (because it was 5 years old), and it had been opened ONCE to take pictures of the content inside, but he had never used anything from the box. And he didn't say anything about specific regions

Seller utterly obliterated the value of the item to take pics of it? Does that in any way make any bit of sense? Critical thinking, man!

You bought the CE last December, already posted this same thread about a month ago, and you haven't taken action yet?
