Topic says it all. Would I want a slow or fast 1h as a prot paladin in pvp?
Thanks!

I'm almost certain you want a slower weapon. I believe our crits and weapon proc's are based off of per/min calculations. Meaning the slower the weapon, the more crtis/weapon proc's per minute we'll receive.
I'm not a PvP expert, so some confirmation of this would be great.
You're right.
The slow 1h is the same reason why Ret uses a slow 2h. You want nice, hard hits, and thus crits. Hammer of the Righteous hits like a freight truck, and reckoning is great with a slow one hander.
Just to make it clear, Hammer of the Righteous works off of weapon DPS, not weapon damage. Assuming two DPS weapons are both the same item level, their DPS should be (nearly) identical. We want the slow one-hander for harder Seal of Corruption hits.

And to demonstrate why both posts are right, but not quite by themselves, SoV off melee attacks are indifferent to weapon speed. The only reason why slower weapons are better is because SoV procs off HotR and ShoR as well, and the increase in burst is sufficient to outweigh the faster stacking of the DoT,
assuming you get good time on target
.
If you have a very mobile target like a Frost Mage, you may be better off with Seal of Justice or Seal of Righteousness, in which case, slower weapons are still better. :P

See, I always pvp with Seal of Justice (doesn't proc massively often but when it does it messes them right up) and I use a fast weapon 'cos according to the tooltip it goes off per *attack*, so the faster the weapon the more chances you have to stun 'em, right?
(tooltip:
)
If this isn't the case I'm happy to be corrected, can anyone confirm with teh data?
Cheers

Learn to help people Fnuffer, if it's not too difficult.
Kildeer, the reported proc rate is 4 or 5 times per minute. With a very slow weapon (3.5 speed) the chance for it to go off is between 23%-29%. If you have a quick one handed weapon (1.8 speed) the chance will be lowered to 12%-15%. The difference occurs because you either get four or five stuns per minute which makes it unreliable. It could also go off while diminishing returns are in effect, using up one of your procs.
Also, in case anyone was wondering, the diminishing returns from Hammer of Justice do not stack with this. Controlled stuns and uncontrolled stuns are counted separately.

Thanks Raleandris.
Guess it's this for PVP then:
Grimhorn Crusher
Until I have the health pool to tank heroics...

u can use switching weapon during combat, i just grab
Black Icicle
with SoC(H) and SoV(A).Then if u see enemy healer there or u in trouble like 3v1 then start switch to any fast tank weapon and buff up SoJ.
