The universe was created by a large amount of matter coming out of a unbelievably large black hole.
I'm fairly sure nothing can escape a black hole, and I've never heard the big bang expressed in such a manner. What's your source for this?
Edit: Yup, Once you pass the event horizon
the escape velocity required exceeds the speed of light
.
Isn't that why it's black (the black hole) in the first place?
