i mean, I wouldn't be HAPPY if I were on my resto shammy or priest if it dropped, but I wouldn't emo-quit. I say Screw 'em. if they're more interested in selfish looting than in guild progression, they can suck it.
It's not the BEST trinket for a holy pally, but it certainly is up there. At the same time, it helps you do a job that isn't necessarily yours to begin with: Raid healing. so... *shrug* We all take the Glyph of Holy Light, don't we?

If there wasn't an ICD on the Abacus, that glyph would make it completely overpowered - 6 chances to proc for the price of one!
But there is, and that's why it sucks.

G of HL is not a spell, and is not counted as your heals either.
It can't proc abacus ICD or not.
Imagine meteorite and solace having a ramp up time of 2 seconds, WTFPWN!

"Each time your spells heal a target"
vs
"Each time you cast a (healing) spell" or "Each spell cast"
Technically, you heal 6 targets, so you should have 6x the proc rate. But you're only casting one spell. So my interpretation still holds. But ok, I dunno :)

svirve and Squish - I read this as meaning 'even though we're considered pure tank healers, we take a pure raid healing glyph because it is awesome,' given as rationale for what is a raid healing trinket proc. I don't think he was saying GoHL procs Abacus.

I know that's what OscarDivine was saying. I just thought it was an amusing consideration. Removing the ICD would make the trinket OP when used in conjunction with GoHL and Holy Light spamming, even if it was a relatively low proc rate.

It's still not your/a spell.
Even though it's indirectly affected by stats/buffs on your character, it's not considered to be cast/dealt by you.
The heal is dealt by the glyph.
Technically you're healing 1 target and the glyph 5 targets.
I do understand your interpretation, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way.
Pretty much the same way with all glyphs.
So if the glyph could wield the abacus then it would be pew-pew ;p
P.S.
If it were as you said,
bacon
would proc from GoHL heals.

GoHL actually counts as your heals, just like Judgment of Justice does. FoL HoT does as well. None of those count for Beacon, though. The problem isn't that GoHL doesn't proc it, the problem is the ICD.
I think it counts as "when your spells heal a target", but not "when you cast a spell."
And I don't consider us pure tank healers. Paladins have 2 ways to play - 2-tank or tank+raid. I normally go for tank+raid because then if I get stuck not healing (e.g. bone spiked) only one person has to help me, instead of two.

It's not counted as your heals, recount/skada etc.. will record it as that for convenience.
The glyph is what heals, not you.
The combat log won't even state that it's you that healing, it'll state that it's your glyph that heals.
JoL is a spell, FoL hot is a talent. Neither are glyphs and thus does not share mechanics with glyphs.
I understand your point though, they don't proc bacon either. Also I'm pretty sure neither will proc the abacus.

Ahh, fair enough. Stupid game mechanics :)
