Computer stress?

I had an older Mac and it broke with this game on there. I quit in mid 2009. I have a newer Mac and want to play for a month or two because I'm bored..
My grandma won't let me reactivate the account because she is afraid it might break the computer again. (My grandma owns the computer)
Basically, how will the game do with these specs?
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/stats/imac-core-2-duo-2.66-20-inch-aluminum-early-2008-penryn-specs.html
Edit: Also worried about any damage WoW may cause.

I don't know a lot about Macs but I can tell you right now that WoW isn't going to 'break' her computer.
Just tell her you'll play it on low graphics settings.

It broke the old one I had.

I highly doubt the game broke it. You said it was old. Computers only last so long.
I fed my dog Alpo every day for 15 years and he died! That doesn't mean Alpo killed my dog.

Oh, how I lolled...
On topic: Your grandma getting a virus in an email is infinitely more likely than WoW harming a computer.
It's a mac though so that's pretty unlikely.
But yeah, just turning a computer on and off causes hardware stress. Computers just wear out after a while.
It would be a good idea to save money and buy your own
PC
. Macs are way more expensive. It might be a bit of a hassle to learn a new OS if you've only ever learned Mac OS, but it's a lot cheaper to just build a light gaming computer for your own use.
Dunno how old you are but you could probably just mow lawns or something.

Trust me WOW would not have been the cause of the computer breaking. I've worked in IT for the last 10 years before going back to study computing at Oxford Uni as an mature student and never known a game to be the direct cause. WOW will run fine on the new machine you linked , just remember to keep the machine raised and it has a good flow of air around the unit. Only use add on's that you really need and be conservative with the settings. WOW was orginally desinged to be run on PC's that were around in 2003-2005 orginally and the game has not really increased with the demands. On my machine WOW barley makes one of the 4 cores raise above 3% load and on my laptop which is a dual core it can run the game with no high levels of load on the RAM or CPU.

Yeah, either you or your grandmother or both are misinformed about WoW.
There is no way that WoW broke your computer, there is just NO WAY.
It could of been from any website, download, video, ANYTHING but world of warcraft.
Tell her that she broke it, and after being beaten, tell her that grandpa broke it with porn.
