So glad it's being broken. If you can't raid without big arrows and whatnot holding your hand, please.... just stop. I'm not being elitist in the slightest, but boss fights are meant to require thought and strategy, not to simply to become a dps race for dps, a green bar whack a mole for healers, and a snooze fest for tanks as aggro is so easy these days.

Bosses in ICC cast spells that require you to be away from your team mates for a certain number of yards or withing a certain number of square yards, since there is no visual markings of said distances you have to rely on your own judgment, gonna be honest with you I have pretty good judgment of distance in wow but even if I mis-judge it once during an encounter I am dead, and since I am the MT helaer the MT is also dead, and the whole raid wipes, costing us in 1k g repair bill+ around 20 minutes of running back/buffing and getting ready I know this, I've done the fights in icc. However, if at any point you find yourself unable to do your job without an addon, something is wrong. Additionally, judgement is part of the game, if you mess up, you should be punished for it. With AVR, this is trivialized and you no longer have to rely on judgement, or even knowledge of what is actually going on around you. That's not how the game was meant to be played.
Also, one person's mistake shouldn't wipe the raid. The other healers should be able to note your issue (whatever it is) and adjust accordingly. Unfortunately this situational awareness is lost with the help of this addon (though it's already incredibly low). As I said, the game isn't whack a mole with health bars, moving and reacting of your own accord and making decisions about how to interact with the fight are a huge part of the game. AVR makes people mindless bar watching zombies.

DXE uses the instance coordinates to show range.
They're breaking AVR by removing the API to read camera pitch, direction and distance.

Being a person who succesfully raided through Ulduar hard modes without bossmods, I simply find that AVRE ridiculous.
If you cannot do the encounters properly, then don't. You're bad and shouldn't do them.

Someone seems to be forgetting Sindy's Magical Mana Tombs here!
But I agree, the thing has got to go. I didn't even bother installing it or telling anyone I knew about it because it just felt wrong relying on something that quite literally tells you where to stand to avoid damage. People have learned with high death counts and repair bills to stay out of the fire on their own accord for nearly five years now, if this thing were to be continued to be allowed they may as well allow us to put our characters on rails and push buttons when we see a mob show up on screen like Time Crisis.

A moderator moved one of these into the UI&M forums after the original was created instead of locking the other with a link. That's why :).
