Just got out of 25 man icc and if I'm honest I'm not happy. I pulled 7k dps on marrow and on saurfang. Not bad I thought. And then somehow on fester and rot my dps is down to 5.8k. Is that normal? I mean I have decent enough gear, got the reccomended spec, and follow the priority rules. So either I'm doing something wrong or my gear just isn't enough yet is what I'm starting to think. Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Your spec is off, you're missing an extra point in the destro tree
You are over hit cap, probably WAY over hit cap for a 25 man if you have a boomkin/Shadow Priest
I'm not quite sure why you have a stam gem in your neck piece, but thats not a deal breaker
What is your rotation?

In regards to my rotation... I keep life tap bonus up at all times, try and keep my dots up at all times (Won't stop running to cast something if I need to be running obv.), and spam shadow bolt unless either molten core or decimation proc.
It's my understanding that hit cap is 17% or 446 (I did check and according to asakawa's warlock faq this is correct). So I'm not *way* over. Besides which I'm going to be losing a fair bit (74 hit or roughly 2%) of hit on wednesday when I get my next piece of t10, and so will be under hit cap once more. Getting rid of that trink would be bad in this case.
Good point on the stam gem. I seem to have missed it when changing the others out.
Also good point on my spec. I didn't think 1 point would make all that much difference.

Did I miss something? Isn't your demon having a high crit chance a good thing since it makes demoninc pact proc more often?

check the tooltip
uptime is not a concern so it's just about what gives the best DPS. with my gear setup (hit capped) iDT is still the best choice but if you need hit i'm not at all surprised to find ganimede gets a dps increase from putting those points in suppression.

Hmm I never thought about moving points to suppression from iDT but I might have to do that because ever since I had
Leggings of Woven Death
made to replace the tier I lost a ton of hit, and I was even considering going back affliction just so I could make some of it up.

Had my guilds icc10 last night. Even go me some shiny new gear. And am now way over hit cap. So will be replaceing that trink. Which oddly enough drops my hit rating to approx. 15% or 406. So I'm planning on inserting 2
Rigid King's Amber
to put me almost exactly on the hit cap. :)
Before the raid I made sure to alter my spec and change out that stam gem. And noticed no difference what so ever. Still pulled over 7k on Marrowgar and still pulled just 6k on fester. However I did realise just how much moving there is in the fester fight and that most likely accounts for any dps loss I have at this stage.
Cheers for the advice.
Edit: Fixed the hit rating and now am on 447 or 17.06%.

regarding fester, you should never have to be more than 9 yards away from the meeting point. moving that far takes less time than a GCD so spending a full GCD on teleport only prevents you from doing something more useful (usually a life tap) in that running time.
teleports can be nice for times when you have to run far (rotface), move quickly (sindy) or other specific reason (LK) but it's good to bear in mind the loss of a GCD when you do use it. if the distance you're trying to move takes less than a full GCD then you're losing out by using it.

Actually I used Demonic Circle on fester tonight (we did get him down this time) and noticed a slight increase of dps as opposed to not using it. Also unfortunately we don't have an spriest (though we will if we can recruit another healer) or boomkin in our regular 10man group. Nor do we have one in the 25man. Managed to bring my dps up some more as well so that's always good.
Now a related question... Is the combo of Frozen Bonspike and Scourgelord's Baton better for our dps than Nibelung(droped and i won it tonight)? With the dagger/offhand there's more spirit and more spell power and more crit. With the staff there's more int, stam and 2 sockets. Plus that proc. So yeah... Is it worth my time to change it over?

Sim it.

haha. Would you believe I never even thought of that. Will do. Cheers.
Edit: Have done. Turns out to be very very close. Only about 200 points difference in favor of the staff.
