is it possible? its it possibly nelves descended from worgen? is it possible nelves were once worgen, aka wolf people, who were the tribe of nocturnal primitive humanoids who were transformed into night elves by the power of the moonwell?
discuss.
I actually said 'WHAT?' outloud when i read this title,
no night elves most certainly do not come from worgen
night elves came from trolls who learned magic
worgen are corrupt humans, it surprises me you think worgens are a race by themselves, that would be like saying gnomes came from undead somehow, undead are you rezzed humans

The worgens we will play used to be humans. The worgen race are minions of Elune.

To clarify, NE's decended from general elves (high elves), not from Worgen, it is just a stupid thing to relate the two just because they are attuned to nature...

Other way around; the High Elves came from the Night elves.

Well, yeah, but again, considering what the original Worgen were facing off against; the Lords of Emerald Flame(more then likely some form of the Legion), if it was Azeroth or some aspect of Azeroth(the Dream), that would mean they could strike whenever they want, instead of waiting on people to open portals for them.
It's entirely possible, just like with Medivh and Gul'dan, that the Scythe could force open portals between worlds, and it reached that world under attack.
Emerald could be fel flame, but it does sound suspiciously dream related. Especially for a race who's drudic past is going to be stressed.
Not really... as there has never been any evidence of the 'lords of Emerald Flame' in the Dream, especially as the only threat to the Dream lately has been the Nightmare. Also, Face, remember; the Dream is what Azeroth would have been if no sentient species evolved on it... so yeah, unless the Worgen were 'stupid' animals, they couldn't have come from the Dream.
There's plenty of sentient races in the Dream. Also remember that I didn't say the dream, I said the earlier layers of the dreams, the screw ups. There hasn't been any evidence of the 'lords of the Emerald flame' in the Nether either. Not to mention them coming from a different world/the Nether offers no explanation to how they are related to Drudism/Night Elves.

alright adam and all the deniers, here is the video where chris metzen says what i said he says:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZBS0PPgFTM&feature=related
skip to 2:19
and he is clearly talking about the original worgen.
and they are even SUPPOSED to have relations to kalimdor's ancient past and an ancient secret druid sect. deny if you want though......
There are things that I
could
say about that—not about the link, about the storytelling and fan response—but I won't.

It'd be hilarious if it turns out the Worgen summoned by the scythe were from the future, which in turn infected the residents of our current time line, which led to the cursed citizens slaughtering all others and taking over Azeroth, which in turn then caused them to be the only thing left to fight the Lords of the Emerald Flame. Which, quite honestly, makes me think of the elemental lords in Cataclysm combined with the Burning Legion. Giant green Ragnaros!

meh, its chris metzen, he even retcons himself if its bad story telling you're talking about (he says he takes the lore very seriously, despite constantly retconning it, even saying the wow lore will be retconned for the wow movie) so he even rectonned himself :D
i'm usually quick to except retconned lore if it makes some sense. for example the supposed Elune is a naaru named E'lune.... took a while to get but after reading the long winded article about it I found it pretty cool.
Elune is not a Naaru though.

/FACEPALM! That was a tin-foil hat edition, as in, pure speculation on the part of the wow.com KYL poster....

FACE. PALM.
Metzen said "some
when
else." He did not say "the past."
In addition, there is a very, very good chance that he was just teasing us with this.
Metzen saying "from somewhere else, or some
when else
" does not equate to "Metzen definitively said that they're from the past."

Metzen said "Are the Worgen from somewhere else or,
just for kicks
, somewhere else?" I assume he was just teasing when referring to the Worgen as coming from another point in time.

...I still reserve the right to /facepalm at inconsistent fan response.
