Well, I suppose I can make my next thread something along the lines of "Hatman555: Why we hate you," or something similar,
Lol! Do it =]
and we can make posts about how you're a know it all. =p Really, though
All I know about holy is that you need to stack
Crit
no wait
MP5!
I mean INT! ya ya int. Everything else ...well ya, not my area.
I appreciate the help cuz it not only makes me better, but hopefully helps a bunch of other people too.
That's why were are all on these forums. I really hope you continue posting with us.
Cheers,

Added
to the benefits of Engineering, and shuffled around the order of some of the professions.
You could explain effective health and show how
certain
talents
help
tanks to survive attacks (even magical attacks) that would kill dps. That would also help to explain why armor is important and also why agility is better than dodge for pallies.
I could, but I feel that explaining EH would be be a bit beyond the scope of what I intended this thread to be, especially if I get into analyzing agility vs. dodge, or other stat comparisons. I'll leave that to the more advanced theory-crafters.
It would also be a little helpful to remove the bit about the glyph of hammer of the Righteous and damage...
Point out that
Sacred Duty
gives your Divine protection a 2 min cooldown, the same as forbearance's duration.
Done and done.
Finally, after finishing my re-gemming last night, I found that I still had 7.32% hit from my gear... I was shocked. I'll be finishing up the improvements to my enchants here in the next day or two, so I'll lose the 25 hit rating from
, but I'll still be at 6.56% hit - crazy. Also, I've worked out a solution with several guildies, and I'll be moving
Thracken
to another guild, so I should be getting more 10 and 25 man raiding in.

At this point I'm nitpicking. Keep up the good work, and stop petting Svirve's ego.
It's rightfully larger than what is pet-able.
It was more of a /bow of respect than of sucking up, but here's a /punch so that the /bow doesn't go to your head.
I did get that, and as I mentioned my ego is pretty large, no /bow can reach my head (maybe quest if he was standing on a stool).

o - A must have. This, in conjunction with the talent gives you a 3% damage reduction while is up, and,
as long as you hit something at least once every 15 seconds,
unlimited mana regen
.
o - At face value, this seems useful,
but between glyphed and BoSanc you shouldn't ever have mana issues
, which renders this glyph pretty useless for tanking.
This, to me, is kinda confusing. You make it sound like the DP glyph actually affects the mana regen capability of DP.
o (Bubble) - The "bubble." This should be used very judiciously, as it erases you from the threat table because you become immune to all damage - which means you will drop aggro.
It does not remove/erase/eliminate/whatever you from the threat table.
It makes you immune (as you mentioned), and what would you rather be hitting with your head, a brick wall or a pillow?
I would rephrase that to
o (Bubble) - The "bubble." This should be used very judiciously, as it temporarily removes you from the threat table because you become immune to all damage - which means whatever you have aggro on will attack someone else for the duration of the bubble.
o Divine Protection (DP) - A 50% damage reduction on a 3 minute cooldown, 2 minutes with the Sacred Duty talent. Very handy for times when you're taking heavy damage, and it doesn't reset your threat, which can often make it a better choice than your Bubble, depending on the situation.
See above.
o (HoS) - I don't use this too often, but it can come in handy. Useful for making sure there's a smooth transition between tanks, or for keeping that uber dps from pulling aggro during the first few seconds of a fight.
It makes a good defensive CD coupled with its
glyph
.
Worth a mention, also worth putting the glyph in the glyph section.
o Indestructible Potion. Use one right before a boss pull, and you'll be able to use a second one two minutes into the fight.
This stops you from using a health/mana potion during the fight.
.
And sorry for these next ones, I'm not grammatically perfect myself but it's my opinion that guides should be as close as possible.
So some things that tickled my eyes.
o (BoSanc) - You should ALWAYS cast this blessing on yourself while tanking, and give your raid/party other blessings based on group composition.
It's
effect doesn't stack with Kings, and the 3% damage reduction and mana regen make this the better choice for tanking.
It's = It is
o (RF)-
o (BoSanc) -
o (Plea) -
o (SoR)-
o -(HotR)
o (Cons)-
o (JoL) -
The "-"'s are at different positions on each of the abilities =/
o (SoR)
SoR is generally Seal of Righteousness while ShoR is Shield of Righteousness.
There are a few others as well, but I won't dwell on about it since as I said I'm not close to perfect myself.
Otherwise I definitely find this worthy of a mention in the helpful threads after the changes you've made.
Congrats and good work!

A bunch of stuff.
So, I:
- Changed wording on
Plea
,
Bubble
,
HoS
, and
DP
.
- Added the
HoS glyph
to the glyphs list.
- Changed the
ShoR
abbreviation.
- Added Alliance versions of tier items found in the "Starter" Gear section.
- Changed the arrangement so that the divisions of the second and third posts don't occur in the middle of a section.
- Skimmed through the guide, changing formatting/spelling errors as I found them, and re-wording random parts for clarity and/or word choice.
Thanks for the proofreading - it was definitely needed after all the edits.

I love the wowhead view because you can scroll down to the actual gear list, and then organize by gems. I see your going for the Full stam and 1 Agi/Stam gem to match for the meta. Normally people have that Agi/Stam gem in their helms, because the +12 stam bonus is really nice. Unfortunately the helm you are using, has a yellow socket. Personally I would match that with a +10/+15 Def/Stam gem, or if you did really want your hit up a bit put some hit in it. The difference because of the +12 is only 3 stam. I would trade 3 stam for 10 def any day.
Besides that, just watch out where your putting that Agi gem too.
Just by moving your gems around, you can get +3 stam

Awesome, thanks! Hadn't even considered that... now i have to but more gems... *grumble* * gold* *grumble*
I'll definitely be paying more attention to which slot gets the meta activation. I probably won't put a hit/stam gem in there. Even where I sit now - a little less than 6% - I didn't have any issues in the ICC 10 pug I ran last night, so I've accepted have my hit at a lower value than what I've been used to in the past.

In my experiance in raids, if you have at least 1 miss direct, or tricks, then 2% hit is fine. If you have no misdirects at all, your going to want AT LEAST 4%.
I have no math behind these numbers, just over 12 months of tanking at level 80 on my paladin and many many different levels of hit, through gear upgrades.

AoRArchAngel, if you'll re-post your request as a new thread, I'll be happy to go through your gearing/spec, and I'm sure you'll get plenty of other responses as well. This particular thread isn't really intended to be a place for people to ask for advice - you'll be much better served if you make your post a new topic.
As for hit, don't worry about it. I've edited my wording on Hit under the "Stat Priorities" section to clarify that hit isn't a big deal for tanks.
Edit: Added the bit about hit.

Its just I've done that in the past and people told me to come here.
It's not a big deal, really - I just want you to get answers, but where this is an older thread that, at a glance of the title, isn't related to helping an individual with their talents/gear, you probably won't get much of a response. You'll get more help, and faster, if you make a new post.
A bunch of stuff.
The part you quote is actually about
AD
, not
LoH
. As a starter tank, fairly fresh from leveling,
LoH
is your "Oh crap I'm gonna die" button, and what I was trying to say was that you need to resist the urge to
LoH
yourself and let
AD
and your healers take care of you. I've edited the wording of that paragraph to clarify that.
I've also added a bit about socket bonuses. I personally take +12 bonuses, but I'll leave it up to the reader.

Very nice guide. What about the Armor enchant that Hatman555 pointed out for the hands. I use the extra armor over the 18 stam for my hands.
Is there any reason not to use it and way its not included in the guild. Its 225 armor vs. 18 Stam. Both are E.H. type enchants. Or does it just simply boil down to what people perfur?

You still haven't said why LoH is
bad
. You've just stated that you have another passive heal waiting, but from your post I don't see why I should use that instead of LoH. You need to mention that it cannot be used within two minutes of a much better tanking cooldown.
