Sorry if this was covered already (I searched and found nothing)
This has been bugging me for some time now. Why are there no trinkets beyond item lvl 200 blues?
All the other professions have craftables gear that is lvl 264 but why not the topic professions? At the end of BC there were trinkets, they weren’t BiS or anything but they did exist. I cannot figure out why Blizz didn't add them in WoTLK. I know that the trinkets would be BoP and what not, so they wouldn't make money or anything.
I was talking to my roommate (who also plays) and he said that Blizz wasn't going to make any craftables that were BiS. Well that didn't answer my question. I guess they overlooked it or something.
If anyone knows of official answer that Blizz had put out and I just missed it and could post a link I would be much appreciative.

1) They do not add any trinket beyond ilvl 200 because they didnt want to force people to be a certain profession because the BiS item would be a BoP from said profession
2) In cataclysm, Blizzard will "fix" it by making every profession get new BoP items every patch (equivalent of what you get from Heroics)

Darkmoon Card: Greatness
, created by
Darkmoon Nobles Deck
, which is created by
Nobles Deck
, which is made up of parts created by Scribes.
That trinket was arguably best-in-slot for a lot of classes for a year and is ilvl 200 Epic and is technically craftable.

My brain just created a image of my tauren druid alchemist running around with a chestpiece made of some weird gooey substance... Wonder what alchemist armor pieces will look like (assuming its not only trinkets)

I dont know but my fear is that BS will be THE profession to be since it will craft weapons.

Entry-level weapons on par with the previous tier of content. It will be a nice perk for people who already chose BS for the extra sockets, but honestly just for the weapons ? Much less painful to PuG the previous tier and loot something than reroll BS to 525 (ugh!)

during Burning Crusade where casters felt they must be tailors and DPS warriors and paladins felt they must be blacksmiths for the insane weapons and armor
I dont see an issue here, those combos seems right to me, a tailrorer warrior or a BS warlock just dont look good -_-
