rogue ftw. As for your question about mages, if you have shadowstep premed->cheap shot->mage blinks->kidney shot-> first ice block down and after that it's a big step towards victory.

Also on a sidenote for rogues out there: When you do your opener on mages, do you bother using kidney shot to stun-lock them? Since they'll just blink out of it? Im kinda curious.
That's a kind of funny question. "Opener" for a Mage? 90% on my Rogue at least (Sub spec), I pretty much 2 shot them, not even using Cheap shot. I open with Ambush (including the 2 points from Prep), and follow with Evis (5 points at this point). If I don't get them in 2 shots, they will blink, yes, so, Blind (Vanish, if I need to) and the third one usually does it.
I think I have used Kidney shot maybe twice on Mages, they just drop too quick, I don't even get that far to have to use KS. I don't understand that to begin with, on one side you got a class that has a 12 no damage bubble, on the other hand, here is a class (Mage) that imo, should not even pvp to begin with. Sorry, I got off subject but I thought I'd comment on your question.

Well, nothing to LoL'd about, I encountered Mages on my Rogue, Hunter and Shadow Priest, including Frost Mages. It's a joke, no survivability, period. I think I already said that. And don't tell me, "Oh you have not been up against a good one". I have been playing this game for a long time.
The good one's as you call them just prolong the inevitable.
Yes, they do have things to "Avoid" being killed for a while but eventually they run out of tricks.
Don't know how you fight a Mage but if you get owned by one, start practicing.

Somewhow i doubt that
wowkopf's rogue
claiming to destroy all frost mages (lvl 70, no duel won, one duel lost, lower max dmg dagger in mainhand etc.) is a meaningfull contribution on the topic.
