I just cant see someone getting to 72 in outlands, the amount of exp that is needed after 70 is alot more than the 58-70 grind. And no way in hell are you getting to 80 by the time you hit up Dragonblight..Just pick up gathering professions, quest grind, instance grind, play the AH and youll make plenty of gold on your way to 80.

And no way in hell are you getting to 80 by the time you hit up Dragonblight.
I got my first character to level 80 last night. Yay!
But I decided to do every quest I could find, and fully explore each region. Well, every quest up to the point where I got the achievement (Nothing Boring about Borean, et cetera). I went through Borean Tundra starting at level 68, jumped over to Howling Fjord, did a bunch of quests in Grizzly Hills, and quests in Scholazar Basin. I did a quest or two in Zul'Drak, but not many.
I've completed 82 quests in Dragonblight so far. Almost all of those were green, and I was able to solo the group quests for the elite magnataur. So I agree that it won't be right at Dragonblight (also depending on what zones you consider to be "before" Dragonblight) but I've never been in Icecrown or Storm Peaks until after I hit level 80 last night. I think that if I had done the quests in Zul'Drak before Dragonblight, I could easily have hit 80 before touching Dragonblight quests at all.
Well grats on your first 80! and yeah your questing is pretty similar to mine in northrend except I do BT > HF > Dragonblight > GH > ZD and im usually hitting 80 around there if not the nesingwary quests in SB will do the trick. But I would like to know how you guys are putting up with getting to 72 in outlands, BarmyDK claims 2 zones and some instances and he is 70, I call BS on that. Maybe the 2 zones and a &*!@load of instances then yeah I can believe that.
MauroR what you say can mean alot of things, I never hit up BEM anymore because I dont need to I can easily hit 70 by going to HF > Zang > Tero > Nagrand so I guess with 3 big quest zones left to get some more levels you could probably get to 72. But the amount of exp needed after 70 I would think wouldnt be worth it, you would probably have to do about 2 1/2 quests in outlands to get what you would be getting in northrend making it more logical to just go there at 68. Because someone leveling from 68-70 in northrend is gonna get there a hell of a lot quicker than someone doing it in outlands. Yes the person doing it in outlands will have more quests in northrend but that doesnt mean the dude who started in northrend at 68 is gonna run out of quests. All in all I think it all evens out and really no way is quicker than the other unless someone has heirlooms and the other doesnt.
Atleast nobody is claiming AoE mob grinding is better than quest or instance grinding, had a dude that swore by it yet he was still like lvl54 doing it while I was already 63 on my paladin.
