Its likely skipping your WoW directory because the files are in use, this is common. I hear about people who use the computer during these processes.
Be sure you have all programs closed, and you are not using the computer in the process.
If you must, set it up to DeFrag when the computer boots up.
As for other fragmentation programs, they are not necessary. They ultimately do no more than the built in version of windows, and sometimes cause more problems. There are certain System files that must, at all times, be located at the same exact spot on the hard-drive, which some other defrag programs may move.

What operating system? Anything higher than XP you dont need to run defrag windows will take care of it. Installing any other program to do it is just taking up space on your drive and probably slowing you down more.

Exactly, Its an automatic operation with the newer operating systems. Installing a separate program for this operation is just a waste of space, money and resources. The built in version is all that is required. Heck, Defrag is not needed on newer systems because the systems are so fast, that the minute time it takes to read/write is almost not measurable... That is, unless your system is more than 50% fragmented, which is likely to have more problems than just that.
