Spellpower Coefficient... how does it work?

Basically what I'm trying to figure out is... how is the end result of any spell you cast determined, based on spell power?
Here's an example of some confusion I'm having.
My priest is lvl 45.
Flash heal(Rank 5) tooltip says "Heals a friendly target for 524 to 623"
Now, after just running Zul'Farrak, I'm reviewing my healing done.
Flash heal hit an average of 613, with a max of 811. It crit averaged 887, with a max of 1185.
At that time, I had 120sp.
Although I have absolutely no understanding of how exactly SP effects spells, I do know that I'm seeing barely any adjustment to Flash Heals numbers.

I haven't paid too much attention to it, but there are all the numbers for ya.

So, with Flash Heal having an 80% coefficient, at 120sp, my flash heal would receive 96 extra healing?

Yes, plus any other bonuses from talents.

I assume any bonuses from talents are using the spells base capabilities, not taking into account your SP

It depends of the wording of the talent.
Empowered Healing
, for example, increases the SP coefficient of Greater Heal, Flash Heal, and Binding Heal.

Talents that directly increases the damage of a spell, like
, increases the total result, and not just the base of the spell.
