Loot then. People die, it's their own fault.
I'm going to have to agree. Even as a DPS I barely get time to loot if I'm going to keep up, but long ago I decided to say screw it and let the pull happen. I'll catch up when I catch up, and that'll be when I'm damned good and ready.

Same here, and that includes drinking if I'm under 30% mana. And if I'm tanking I'll make sure to wait for the healer but I don't care if I leave a dps temporarily behind.

Healers can't loot? Tanks can't loot. I never have time to skin anything on my druid because I don't want to waste time and stop pulling. On my holy paladin you barely even NEED me, I'll take as much time to loot as I please. I can always Lay on Hands while I run up if I get too far behind one time.

Skinning is about the only thing I hate when people do when I tank. I will gladly slow down and let people loot, I'm not one of those tanks who wants to steamroll in 30 seconds, but if you want to skin do it on your own time. It is very, very easy to level up and just as easy to collect a ton of leather outside the instance and it slows you down a lot more than just grabbing some loot does.

Heh, when I tank I take as much time to loot as I can. They can't go on without me, and I'll be darned if I don't get some goodies for my repair bill.

Im with you. Having 2 Tanks / Healers (Prot / Holy Pally & Feral / Resto Druid) I'm all about looting. Sure we get gold from the Daily, but I'm also there for greens or enchanting mats & BoE Blues. I hate healing 5 mans but I love tanking them, I like setting my own pace.

as a healer I set the pace why? because if you run ahead of me prepare to die and I let them know that.

I havn't been kicked yet or had any leave. And its not very often i get crap for it.

My rules from a healers perspective:
1.
As a healer you should not be looting.
It's a waste of time. There are better places to make money, stop holding everyone up. The way the loot rules work, if there is a green or some gold on a corpse, everyone can loot it and the DPS will take care of it, everything else is a waste. If you're worried about making money, do dailies and play the AH, don't do it in dungeons. Let the DPS do the looting, NOT YOU.
2.
If you're running out of mana on a consistent basis there is something wrong.
Use your CDs and keep moving, don't worry about saving them for boss fights, you're in a heroic, it's not that big of a deal.
3.
If you have to drink (<30%), time it for a small pull, HoT/Shield up the tank before he pulls and drink while the pull is happening.
Hail Mary if needed. Stand up in the middle of it if you really need to.
4.
Don't be afraid to waste water.
It's cheap (free if you have a Mage.) So what if you only get five seconds into a drink before you have to stand up and heal again, better than nothing and it does the job until after the pull. I don't think I ever let a drink tick all the way through, sitting down for 30 seconds is UNACCEPTABLE.
5.
The only time the group should stop to mana up is before boss fights.
If you have to stop a group other than that, you're bad.
As far as waiting on DPS to drink, pfft. Never seen trash with an enrage timer...

As a tank I pull fast. Two reason.
1. I feel that it is my responsibility that everyone enjoy the instance, and now that most are over-geared, then fast is what they want. I enjoy fast, clean runs too. When I dps, I hate a slow tank, especial sense I'm a fury warrior and I want to have all the rage that I can have at the start of the pull.
2. I'm moderately over-geared, and a ill-timed crit from a ICC 25man heroic geared dps can cause problems. Allowing dps to loot gives me a few seconds to setup the next pull. I have been known to move on when the last mob is at 30% health. I just stun and run. As a warrior, I love charge. It allows me to get away from those trigger-happy dps.
Looting would only give me about 4-5 gold in vendor crap and 10-15 pieces of cloth, but add quite a few minutes on the run, AND cause me to start the pull with less rage (see reason 2).
Something else. If you're a healer, there's no reason to stand 20 yards behind the tank. Stand next to him. When a mob dies, loot, even if the fighting is still going on. Chances are, no one will die. Hell, move past the tank if there are no pats and you won't pull any other mobs. No one said you have to stand behind the tank during a pull, just before one.
I mean, really, come one guys. If your a druid, you can dance around the tank and keep everyone alive. The other healers would only need to stop for 2 seconds at ever pass around the tank.
