1. As a healer you should not be looting. It's a waste of time. There are better places to make money, stop holding everyone up. The way the loot rules work, if there is a green or some gold on a corpse, everyone can loot it and the DPS will take care of it, everything else is a waste. If you're worried about making money, do dailies and play the AH, don't do it in dungeons. Let the DPS do the looting, NOT YOU."
I'm a tailor, so my response to this attitude tends to be "bite me". Nobody else can get my Scavenging procs for me, and I've got
autoloot
ffs, it doesn't take long. Yet it's still too slow. BTW, no, I often get like 7 cloth a
mob
in dungeons, so...half a stack of cloth a run? Not even close. Unless people aren't letting me loot. There's tons of cloth to be had in UK or UP.
But then, I don't heal random dungeons any more. The loot/pace issue is why. Yeah, I've got ICC gear, I'm a disc priest, mana's not even
close
to being an issue - heck, I'll holy nova to make the pull itself go a little faster (specifically to make up for the time I would like to spend looting) if there's nothing else going on -- Holy Nova heals and damage, very effective on AoE pulls.
But I can't stand the damned break-neck pace where the tank is not pausing at
all
between pulls, even to let the previous pull die (one pull into the next into the next, into bosses, into the next trash pull) and I don't have 2 seconds to loot something once in a while -- I don't even try to loot all my mobs! But I get behind if I stop for a moment to do it. Yeah, I've got shields, I've got Prayer of Mending...but there are tanks who move through the entire instance in
one
pull, if you stop to loot at all you fall behind and they gripe at you. Forget that.
I didn't want to !@#$ anyone off, and I didn't want people ^&*!ing me off because I don't think it's
only
the dps who deserve the chance for extra cash from greys or some tailoring mats...so I get my frosts with guildies now and otherwise don't even touch the system.

The corpses are there and they are meant to be looted. You might not need the gold, but someone else might. In the end, it is their choice. Essentially what you are doing is forcing them to give up about 25-50g to make the run go 3 mins faster. That is not a choice that you can make. Skinning is a little different, but in the end the principal is the same. Why not loot yourself? If they are 'wasting time', then you might as well not make it worse.
Kind of like saying 'anyone who waits 1 min. will get $10, being forced to stay the min. and not getting your $10, then crying because someone wasted your time for their personal benefit.

From a little while back (emphasis added):It does do harm, it wastes four other people's time (
assuming they don't share the same mindset as you
.) With the amount of dungeon runs a common player has to do in his gaming career, that time waiting for others to loot really adds up.Now, look through this thread and tell me which seems to be the majority's opinion. I understand your point but it really does come out as selfish bickering in this context. The time you wait adds up but so does the money you get, a
penny
copper at a time.
You suggest that people should run heroics faster by not looting and go get their gold elsewhere. However, going elsewhere involves actually going there. With LFD, heroics don't. You just hit the button and get teleported in. While it
might
still be more efficient to move to a farming location in the saved time, that's an extra bit of effort. Same goes for playing the AH. They're activities with the sole purpose of getting some gold while running a dungeon isn't. The gold is an added bonus you get by doing basically nothing, and I'll be damned if I don't use that chance. Yes, I am lazy. It's human nature to be. Especially given that WoW is only a game, easiness and fun are a lot more important than maximal efficiency for the majority of players.
And being the cynic that I am, I'd wager you spend most of the 'saved' time lounging in Dalaran anyway, in which case you only lost money in the end. Doesn't sound too efficient. Feel free to correct me if I'm totally wrong.

What's really the point of continuing to discuss this?
I'm pretty sure that anyone who loots bodies in heroics is going to continue looting bodies, and anyone who doesn't will continue running by the bodies without touching them - and anyone with half a spine and most of a brain will tell anyone who &*!@#es at them about to bugger off.

If your looting is slowing the group, don't do it, or better yet, wait for an opportune moment. The gold the group gets is minimal, and the cloth is worthless except for sale, which is also very minimal. Even greys don't sell for much. There's just very little profit to gain from looting all your corpses.
Depends server to server. On my realm, Frostweave sells 18s/piece, and if someone has NCS, that is 18*7/3=42 silver/second.
So shut up already.
Bolded for emphasis
To expand on that, 42*60*60/100=gold per hours, which happens to be 1512. So unless you have a SERIOUS way to make more than that much gold, shut up already.
Repeat for emphasis
Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already. Shut up already.
