Would you guys kill me if I were to post my thoughts on a new class? :o

We couldn't kill you, but there's a 99% likelihood of it being a waste of time. More of a waste of time than making a thread asking if we want to read another thread about someone's idea for a new class? Maybe.

Well, the way I see it is that, If I were to ask permission before posting, the likelihood of me getting flamed for my ideas would be a whole lot less. You've always got to CYA.
I'll post it anyway.
If it seems a bit odd/op/under powered please leave constructive criticism so that I can improve on it
Class Name:
Chronographer (working name)
Role:
Healing, tanking, support
Armor class:
Cloth, Mail (21 pt talent in Prevention)
Proficiencies:
1h swords, 1h maces, Staves, Shields, Wands.
Races:
Gnome, Human, Blood Elf, Undead
Lore (I realize that this is not concrete blizz lore, but work with me here)
: As the cataclysm erupted a few rogue mages from Dalaran sought ways to further their arcane knowledge. Thinking that their efforts could undo what Deathwing had done, they delved into the time and space manipulation powers of the dragons… it worked to an extent. After multiple attempts, the mages realized that manipulating time would only lead to delaying the inevitable, but only after their bodies suffered duress from the manipulation of time. The abuse of the time and space continuum has left their bodies in an unstable state; they now have to use their powers to reverse the random effects they undergo (e.g. slowing time to prevent the hastened acceleration of their aging process and vice-versa). Realizing that they could do nothing to better the situation, the mages have decided to dub themselves Chronographers to signify their achievement in arcane studies, and went home to their respective cities (as heading back to Dalaran would just result into alienation by their peers).
Resource:
Mana
Key stats:
Intellect, Stamina, Agility
Auras:
Switching from one aura to another costs 5% base mana. Switching from one aura to another triggers a 5 second CD.
Acceleration Aura:
Increases your haste by 10%, your haste now reduces the time between the ticks of your periodic effects, and restores mana every 2 seconds equal to 40% of your mana regeneration. Increases threat by 50%.
Deceleration Aura:
Reduces all damage taken by 60%, increases stamina by 10%, and consolidates all non-periodic damage into a DoT effect that persists after combat (stacking effect, stacks up to 30 times before burst damage affects the Chronographer). Increases threat generation of all attacks by 100% as long as this aura is activated. Increases armor by 280%
Stagnation Aura:
All party or raid members under the effect of stagnation aura take 20% less damage from all sources, 20% of all damage taken will be evenly split between all party or raid members (this damage can be mitigated, but not prevented), and any non-periodic damage source that would reduce their life total to zero would instead bring them to 10% health (final effect does not work in PvP arena or battleground. 60min cooldown). Increases the mana cost of all your spells or abilities by 20%.
Talent Trees:
Prevention, Stagnation, Correction
Prevention:
Tanking tree. Specializes in extending the effects of Deceleration Aura (reducing periodic damage taken, reducing the number of stacks generated by DA).
Stagnation:
Support tree. Specializes in extending the effects of Stagnation Aura (reduces damage taken by the party, increases healing received) and quick, but small burst heals.
Correction:
Healing/support tree; specializes in periodic effects and extends effects of Acceleration Aura.

Skills (examples):
Temporal Rift:
-.5sec-7% base mana-20yds around caster-Magic-Encloses surrounding enemies in a temporal rift, increasing the time between their attacks by 10% for 10 sec.
Flash Forward:
-Instant-7% base mana-self- Increase the Chronographer’s haste by 25%, increases the mana cost of all the Chronographer’s skills or abilities by 35%, and duplicates all the spells that the Chronographer casts for the next three spell casts. This is modified by by a talents in the Stagnation tree that reduces the mana cost penalty to 10%.
Stasis
: -2sec cast-10% base mana-30 yds- The chronographer places the target’s body in a state of limbo for 10 seconds. The target cannot move or cast any spells or abilities and cannot be harmed by any source. Once the Stasis effect runs out the target is afflicted with Stasis sickness and his/her movement speed is reduced to zero, but slowly picks up as the effect wears off.
Temporal Shock
:-instant-10% base mana-10yds around the caster-8sec CD- Causes all enemies within 10 yds of the caster to suffer 480 arcane damage. If Temporal Shock is used while a target is under the effect of Temporal Rift, it deals an additional 480 arcane damage over 8 seconds and slows it’s attack speed by an additional 5%.
Focused Expansion:
- Instant-17% base mana-10yds- The Chronographer expands the space inside of the target, causing 500 arcane damage plus 75 additional damage for each magic effect on the target, and causes 100 damage over 5 seconds for each bleed or disease effect on the target. This is modified by a talent in the Prevention tree that refreshes the DoT of Temporal Rift if it is used on a target that is already under the TR effect.
Rewind:
-2.5sec cast- 20% base mana- 40yds- Reverses the negative effects on a target, healing them for 2034-2466, plus an additional 2200 over 5 seconds if you are under the effects of Stagnation Aura. (can be brought down to 1.5 secs with talents, but suffers a 15% loss to its initial healing effect)
Transference:
- Instant- 24% base mana- 40yds-9sec CD- Link a target to a part/raid member, transferring health. The initial target is damaged for 1200 arcane damage over 16 seconds, healing the linked party/raid member equal to the damage dealt over 16 seconds. Only one transference effect per Chronographer can be active on any one target. The linked party/raid member is healed for double the amount if you are under the effects of Acceleration Aura.
Annul
:- Instant- 7% base mana- 40yds- Removes 1 magic/1 curse/1 poison/1 disease effect from the target (only one of the four will happen, the spell will kill off the most recent effect).
Restore:
-3sec cast-27% base mana-40yds- Heals the target for 3450-3790. Costs 7% less in Acceleration Aura, heals for an additional 5% in Stagnation aura, and refunds 15% of its mana cost when used to heal a target below 25%.
Errata:
-7 sec channeled-70% base mana- reagent: Solidified Tachyon- Raid wide- 60min CD- Heals all party/raid members for 10% of their maximum health over 7 seconds or untill channeling is canceled. Each tick removes one harmful effect on all affected targets.
I'd make a talent tree if I had the resources to do so.

Any class needs a dps tree for leveling and questing. They would never make a class without the ability to do competitive dps.
Well, at least not anymore...

True, though warriors and paladins can efficiently level as prot via AoE grinding (I've prot-grinded my way to 60 on my paladin already, never having to wield a 2h after the first few starter quests), and holy priests using the energizer spec can level without putting more than three points into their "dps" tree. I didn't want to add another dps class into the fray; in stead, I wanted a class that truly fit in the "support" niche, and would take advantage of group mechanics.
I initially created the chronographer as a dps/healer class that did better dps/heals in bigger raid situations, feeding off the various buffs and debuffs available (e.g. they do more damage/healing based on how many debuffs are on the target or how many buffs are affecting its self). But then I realized that it'd be pretty gimped in smaller group situations (and even in solo play), so I opted to turn it into a tanking/healing hybrid that did a minute amout of DPS in one of it's healing/support trees. By turning it into a tank/heal hybrid, I can just add special effects that occur when there are a certain number of buffs/debuffs on a target. I realize that I can apply this to a DPS perspective as well, but do we really need another DPS class? Forcing a toon to be leveled using either it's tanking or healing tree gives the player a better understanding of it's core mechanics, thus allowing the player to be more proficient with the toon, effectively reducing the chances that another "deathtard" scenario.

Done before, look for Chronomancer. Though I think you should edit it to have to do more with Nozdormu's Corruption and the Infinite Dragonflight than Deathwing, perhaps they're a new form of Dragonsworn to the needy Bronze Dragonflight.

Thanks for the input guys!
@Orranis- Didn't realize that something similar had been posted before. Going along with the Nozdormu story line would end in me ripping off ruleofthumb... wouldn't want that to happen.
