Ok here's the deal I am a fairly geared tankadin now, about 5700 gear score to those that means anything to. I am considereing slightly switching my spec to take out
Reckoning
completely and picking up
Divine Sacrifice
and
Divine Guradian
in favor of some extra absorbtion on my own
Sacred Shield
not to mention a potentially raid saving cooldown.
My Armory
My only concern is obviously losing threat, there are only a couple people I ever have issues with and that is a geared fury warrior and a geared enhance shaman. Thanks for any advice, whether it answers my original question or just something else you noticed looking at my character.

There's really no question here. The miniscule amount of threat you get out of Reckoning compared to the raid-saving cooldown of Divine Sacrifice isn't even close to worth it. Put it in a /cancelaura macro and you can even use it while MT'ing.

Reckoning is pretty meh threat right now, and threat shouldn't be an issue at all. Paladins are fairly weak right now in terms of cooldowns, and a free barkskin every three minutes is definitely a good thing.

ok, so I am guessing you mean /cancelaura that would take away effect from d-sac but keep up mitigation from guardian? If so would it just be /cancelaura divinesacrifice?

/cast Divine Sacrifice
/cancelaura Divine Sacrifice
That should keep Divine Guardian up. I'm a button masher at heart, so I hit this key about four times in that single GCD. I don't know if one press will do it but DG will be up. Keeping DS up won't do too many bad things, but in case you may be popping it at just the wrong moment, I'd say keep DS out. Seeing tanks at 30% is always bad. :[

You used reckoning ? At 80 ? Why ?
Dude, it's a levelling talent, and a fairly "meh" levelling talent at that. It offers pretty much nothing to the raiding scene.
Divine Sanc + Divine Guardian all the way. You should be using Sacred Shield on yourself anyway, so making that stronger, plus giving a CD......Why would you not ?
Edit: You can use the Divine Sacrifice as per normal anyway. I don't bother to cancel mine, and never had an issue from it. The healers should be healing you enough that it won't affect you so badly you'll die.
I used it with heroics and trash in mind in combo with seal of command that is a lot of cleaving and as far as boss fights i figured double threat on every swing with reckoning isnt too shabby. I say double because I assume it procs my seal twice per swing. Anyway I am going to switch it tonight thanks for all the advice.

You actually want it the other way round, ie
/cancelaura Divine Sacrifice
/cast Divine Sacrifice
The reason being that with it the other way round, one click usually wont both cast it and remove it. And if you click a second time, div sac is on cd so gives an error, and wont pass through to the second line of the macro to remove it.
The macro I have given will cast on first click, and cancel on the second click. (you can add in a line of script to suppress the error sounds, but i cant be bothered to check the exact commands).
ah ok, that makes sense, much appreciated!
