What's the point of this thread, really? We've had enough horde
vs
alliance threads.
Post by
Adamsm
All of these were posted in the other threads that are currently on the front page, we don't need another one.

ok.
A: the youtube vid is against the rules, it's from a private server sandbox, and as such breaks the NDA that wowhead clearly respects.
B: despite all these goodies, Thrall and Cairne no longer lead the orcs and taurens.
C: to add insult to injury of all the knuckleheads posible, Garrosh of all people was chosen to lead not just the orcs, but the horde in general, he acts like a fascist musolini and evicts non-orcs from the center of orgrimmar, and reshapes every horde base in the game to look like a frikking hellfire citadel knockoff.
and to top it all off, the tauren mount looks like the mothership of a hippie while the awesome vindicator draenei mount looks awesome.
and now, let me be one to say this thread won't remain open for long.

lol
Well the NDA thing doesn't matter... but the fact that it's from a Private Server does; those are against wowhead rules.

cough cough, stonard remains just as it is today, alliance builds a new base in swamp of sorrow but stonard is just fine.
Durotar has not a single presence of alliance big enough to be a threat, just the small kul'tiras castle for young orcs to crush the little marines in there, training for when they get stronger you see =)
and southern barrens isn't part of the alliance, how many times do I have to repeat it, THE HORDE HAS A FRIKKING CASTLE twice as big as the other alliance base, and a new outpost to replace taurajo...........
now our turn:
how's the weather in southshore? I hear auberdine is lovely to visit this time of the year, hows the tree's growing on ashenvale? enjoying our 3 new bases in ashenvale? and our 2 new bases in darkshore? how about our newest flotilla of warships?

It make's no difference which faction has control over which zone, no matter how much you argue over it with information based on screen shots from the Alpha. In the end, Blizzard is going to do whatever they want to do, and we have to deal with it. After all, it is THEIR story, THEIR lore, and THEIR game. They can do whatever they want.
The best thing to do is relax and just enjoy the ride! :)

blizzard has stated taht alliance get southern barrens. horde get northern barrens, just because there is a horde base in southern barrens does not mean its a quest hub for horde players. was that big horde base in ashenvale lumber camp a horde quest hub? exactly it wasnt.
that big horde castle is just an npc place for allies to kill horde npcs for quests. alliance get southern barrens, and horde get northern. why deny this?
Why deny it?
first of all, blizzard NEVER said "the alliance gets southern barrens" they said that they would increase their presence there, just as they never said "the horde gets ashenvale" they said they would increase their presence there, that's all. And if you have any info to say the oposite, please link it.
as for the base recount let's see them shall we?
Alliance bases:
Fort Triumph
Honor's stand
Foward Command
Northwatch Hold
and
Bael Modan
and now let's see the horde bases:
Hunter's Hill
Camp Una'fe
Vendetta Point
Firestone Point
Fazzlecraz Motherlode
Twin's Braid Patrol
Desolation Hold
And finally an unnamed base, that is besieging Northwatch hold by land with infantry and siege engines, and by sea with Horde Frigates.
so don't let it get over your head, jeez, Vendetta point is right next to the ruins of taurajo, and judging by the name, and the fact that is EXACTLY next to the new Door to Mulgore, you can expect it to be packed full of angry tauren who will want exactly what their base is called, REVENGE (vendetta :P)
I feel sorry about that poor alliance base next to the ruins of taurajo, their future isn't exactly long.
also, about ashenvale... that big horde lumber camp in ashenvale was never a quest-hub, but splintertree post and zoram'gar post were MAJOR horde quest hubs on ashenvale, and in catalcysm Zoram'gar gets a major upgrade to the point that it's almost like warsong hold, complete with a harbor and a HUGE flotilla of horde warships, and splintertree post also gets buffed.
not to mention that the horde captures the town of silverwing (permanently this time) and sets up a new base called "hellscream's vigil" right above astranaar to bombard it to hell and back again.
ashenvale is still a contested zone, the horde increased their presence there, but both factions do quests there, alliance do quests to repell the atacks of silverwing and hellscream's bases, and horde do quests to bomb astranaar and maestra's post.
same goes for south barrens, Northwatch hold is under siege by a HUGE armada of horde warships, and a horde base that completely blocks reinforcements, and Fort Triumph is also under heavy siege by the larger Desolation Hold.
final point:
notice something particular about the alliance bases? humm ohh yhea THEY ARE BLOODY RUINS MAN, not one of them is on decent shape, while most of the horde bases are tauren camps, all of them are in solid shape, neither horde base shows signs of destruction or invation save for the ruins of taurajo, while all the alliance bases look like they could fall apart any moment, exept for bael modan.
chew on that pl0x

those alliances base are not in ruins, they're in the process of being built. notice the obvious construction?
i think they're just being built, they're not in ruins, they're just in the process of being built.
2 lines saying the same stuff?
allright, time to dispell the "they are being built" theories.......
notice the DEBRIS near them? how bout the fire?
and then take this for a change.......
Alliance moved in and atacked Taurajo, burned it to the ground, and started building bases.
the horde in response also started building bases, AFTER the alliance, because, the alliance hit taurajo first, and then began building, and the horde started their construction after the atack on taurajo.......
so, all the bases are new, and yet the alliance bases look like a wreck, while the horde ones don't.
plus there's debris, ruined siege weapons and FIRE in several of them (save for Foward Command)
how's that?
there's a diference between saying "those alliance bases are being built" to saying "those alliance bases are being REbuilt" (after a horde ass-kicking that crippled their bases in the first place)

So pretty much what we're all saying is the Alliance is trying to make a move into Horde territory, caught the Horde off-guard (burned down Taurajo) but now the Horde is organizing and it's up in the air, with the Alliance having established a military foothold and the Horde resisting and before we start whipping out and comparing various epeens we should wait and see what the quest lines (especially in Southern Barrens) have in store for us before passing judgement on WHO RULES THE BARRENS!
Also, I see Barrens Chat degenerating further into Southern Barrens Yell.

you my friend are full of wisdom =) shadowworg should listen to these words.
and no I'm not being sarcastic, because I agree with you 100%.
it's UP IN THE AIR who owns the barrens, and looking at the position on wich the bases are situated, it can roughly be said that Left-barrens=horde and right-barrens=alliance.
somewhat anyways.
I'm not trying to say here that the horde rules the barrens just cuz we have more bases, i'm simply trying to burn to the ground the crappy rumor that "the alliance owns the barrens" because, Southern Barrens is a CON-TES-TED LAND.
just like ashenvale, yhea the horde increased their grip in the area, a lot may I say so, but that does NOT means ashenvale=horde, nope not at all, because the night elves still have a strong presence along with the draenei.

I actually see this as a sort of double "Gotcha!".
The Horde makes a move deeper into Ashenvale, ambushing the Alliance and throwing them off balance and expanding their grip slightly. Then, while strutting around acting all tough, they realize the Alliance just did the exact same thing to them in the Barrens. (Or vice-versa, with the Alliance moving into the Barrens first, though knowing Garrosh I doubt it, but we'll find out I'm sure)

we don't know wich one happened first :P but it's irrelevant anyways, because what is important is that these 2 zones are now full battlegrounds and neither side has a clear-cut victory over the other one.
the alliance moved in on south barrens and are making a push ,but haven't won yet, the horde is defending but haven't repelled them yet.
the horde moved in even more so in ashenvale, and are making a push, but haven't won yet, and the alliance is defending but haven't repelled them yet.
that's sort of how it stands...... I just can't stand the ignorants that rant "the horde haz ashenvale, TAKE HAT ally n00bz" or the equally uninformed fellaws that say "the alliance haz south barrens, IN YA FACE gorde......."
=/
