Words aren't offensive, the way they're used are.
Pretty much.

I'm no expert, but I think that the person who invented the word "!@#$%^" wasn't to use it as a insult, it's just a adjective, like "a person who comes from Nigeria" or some twist to "Negro".
It's the modern use that made it sound like a insult.
Like the word "jew", it
sounds
like a insult because of the connotation that was given to hearing that word.
But the word in it self points at a person's religion, it doesn't automatically mean "child-blood drinking greedy rat creature"
Same goes for the word "gay" and many other things

People on the Internets have a higher tendency to use offensive words in offensive contexts because they rarely (if ever) experience the consequences of those actions.
Penny Arcade
approximated the logic behind this pretty well.

to be honest, people who use that word should be hung and are the cause of racism that wont die. I don't understand what gives people the right to say it. Instead of using the F word you throw out a word that's disgustingly racist.

$%^&* refers to something similiar to bro meanwhile $%^&*! means something entirely different and degrading
Yes. if you replace bro, man, dude, friend, etc..... with nigg@ then its not racist, but if you add the ER at the end of it or if your using the word referring to a african american then its racist

Laihendi hears african americans use the word to refer to other african americans frequently.
