We are aware of the issue that is currently affecting the Children’s Week quest line in Dalaran which does not allow players who have completed the quest line last year to take part in it again this year. We do not currently have a fix planned to address this issue at this point in time.
To clarify, this issue won't be able to be resolved for Children's Week this year. If you completed the quest previously you won't be able to complete it again for the other pet this year.
Bullsht. that is just the most stupid thing ive EVER heard. I guess this means 'We are to god damn lazy to fix it so SCREW YOU pet collectors'. They are allready rolling in our money, you'd think the lazy slobs would atleast hotfix it..... Blizz customer support in in NO WAY what it used to be.

Totally agree, it is extremely lame. They said last time that we would be able to get the second orphan this time around. Then when Children's Week started and the matron wasn't giving out quests, they said it would be hotfixed in the weekly maintenance. Now they are saying it will never be fixed.
Basically they managed to forget to implement something in time for the event it should be part of. Twice. Then they went back on their word. Twice.
In other news, the blizzard store is of course working fine. Absolutely nothing wrong with the pets you have to pay real money for....

I think you are jumping to conclusions. They extended the duration of some other holiday not-so-long ago, because there was a problem (I think it was the Midsummer Fire Festival). They may do the same.

That's what caused the problem in the first place heh.

I don't see a problem, as when the first introduced the Dalaran quests it was well past Children's week, they just let us experience those quests without having to wait an entire year. So you did this years orphen, just way earlier than normal, next year it will be all fine.

Scream, stomp, and swear like a child all you want.
The end result is you being treated accordingly...

Some facts:
1. World Events are (supposedly) reset at midnight on december 31st.
2. Dalaran Children's Week was introduced following Patch 3.2.0, and took place from August 4 to August 11, 2009.
3. Midsummer Fire Festival 2009 was bugged beyond repair, was
not extended
and resulted in many players losing all uncompleted achievements less than 24 hrs prior to the end of the World Event. The
Striking Back
quest however, for 67-70 characters was extended to 67-80, once again allowing 20 blossoms per day through daily quests, and this is suspected to have been the cause for the difficulties.
All things considered, I have to admit that the way Blizz handled this situation, in regard to what happened last year, and especially their communication towards the players was lacking and rude. They could've handled it better.
Make no mistake, this isn't QQ. I've got
Lil' Game Hunter
, and my purple people-eater, but I agree with players who feel mistreated by this situation.

Since the Dalaran children's week took place later than the normal children's week they will probably let us do the Dalaran part later in the year too...

But then that just makes it broken again for next year lol.

Let me just say that I am a pet collector myself and have almost every other pet in the game except for some TCG and blizzard store ones. I do not understand what the big issue is with this being bugged. I've seen so much complaining over this issue this past week you'd think it was something truly serious affecting gameplay.
I agree that they should've fixed it, especially since pet collectors as a community provide them with quite a bit of extra cash (first they are biggest consumers of TCG decks and second they are the main consumers of blizzard store pets and mounts). BUT the fact of the matter is: it is one pet and the way some of you drama queens are handling this tragic situation is just embarrassing to witness.

The reason they don't want to fix it is probably because later down the road, they'll have the oracle/frenzyheart orphans for sale through their online store (seeing how popular the Lil KT, XT and Pandaren are), then say something like "if you missed out on Children's Week, here's your chance to own your very own blah blah blah."

^This.
But then again, I look at the human race, and see the amount of entitlement we see in all aspects of life, and it doesn't surprise me too much. I'm not free of it myself, but when I do catch it myself falling pray to the "Ideserveits!", I try to quash it quickly.

This entire Childrens Week was plagued with bugs, from NPCs not giving out quests, BG's that weren't granting achievements, and queue timers that made other BGs completely inaccessable to probably 50% of the players.
I hadn't seen any complaints other than the Dalaran NPC. Every time I saw someone in a BG complaining about failing to get an achievement, and I checked my log and found that they
hadn't
actually tagged the flag - someone else had clicked it first.
Afterall, who really is going to care about a 310% mount when everyone and their dog has a 310% mount already.
They have not announced the price for this yet. I think that you're exaggerating. I know a large number of casual players who do not have even epic flight on their characters because of the cost; that's 5k gold, so I would easily expect "legendary" flight training (or whatever they call it) to cost 10-15k gold.
