Most likely so, yes. Can't see what else should've kept him from doing it. Even Bolvar didn't succeed in it.
Also, I took the liberty of moving this thread to the Lore & Roleplaying Forum. Fits better there :)

Absolutely. Tirion's sense of personal duty runs too deep for him not to have done it.

Yes he would have; he had every intention of it, till Bolvar stopped him. As for the Ashbringer... he would have kept it, and then between the Helm and the Sword, the Scourge would not have been a threat anymore; the Blade would have keep Tirion in full control of himself the entire time.

huh...then maybe tirion should have taken the burden if the sword would have kept him in control.

But then they couldn't set up a Scourge set back at some point as Bolvar loses control, and Wrath 2 strikes.

No Varian would've run in and done it.
Yes of course Tirion would've put the helm on.

He would have of course, after that the king told him had to be done, what other choice was there but to keep the scourge controlled.
Its just as well though, tirions one of my fav lore characters nowadays and would want to see more of him, just not as some corrupted figure. the mans lost enough as it is.

Wasn't the ashbringer itself corrupted in favor of the scourge not long ago?
It was cleansed when Darion gave up his life.

It was technically corrupted because of what Renault did; betraying his father and murdering him. The Blade remained corrupt because of Alexandros feelings towards his son, and the fact that his murder wasn't being avenged; also the core was only a fragment of a Naaru shard, not a full thing; they go through a natural dark phase anyways.

HALT!
The Ashbringer being forged from a shard of a Naaru is a speculation only. It is one I personally favor, but let us not assume it the a correct one.

Kind of like me ;)
