If you look up yourself on wowheroes, you'll see the same thing.

They all use different methods for determining your Gearscore, there is no correct way. If you hover over the scores here you can see a breakdown, there are also some details
here

I'm a fan of wow-heroes gearscore calculation, myself.

There is no gear score standard. I suppose if you wanted to argue it, the only "standard" for gear score would be a summation of the iLevel of the items you're wearing, since it's the only number supplied by Blizzard as a measure of the item's quality.
I prefer raiding with my guild-mates who understand that gear score, while a good off-the-cuff measure of whether you're ready for a particular run, is not the be-all, end-all measurement of raiding capability.

Using these numbers, 261 is correct. But I don't know what numbers Wowhead is using.
Gearscore uses the ilvl, and only that, to find the number. Which is good for knowing off-the-cuff what sort of gear level a player is using. However, that also opens it up to 'cheating', since people can use high ilvl items to boost their score, regardless if those items are actually useful for their class. Hell, as I understand it, people dualwielding or using 1h weapon+offhand are still at a benefit with Gearscore, since it counts the two itemlevels instead of just the one using a single 2-hander.
Wowhead and a lot of other 'gear score calculators', will take things such as appropriate gemming and enchanting, as well as how the gear fits your spec into consideration.

Check the gearscore for a MH+OH, and then check the gearscore for a 2hander, you'll notice the 2h has exactly the same as the MH+OH combined (if they are the same iLvl, offcourse)

Wowhead follows a similar scheme as WoW-Heroes. It considers item level.
