I believe in the possibility of a God.
As improbable as it may be, I believe in the possibility of both a Hell and a Heaven, and I believe in the possibility of just one or the other.
Either way, should it matter?
Lol, and he just proves he's starting fights and !@#$ because he enjoys it; in other threads, you've said your an Atheist, and you don't believe in God.... make up your mind Face; one side or the other.
He's an atheist in the "I can't prove anything" sense - a soft atheist, not a hard atheist "God doesn't exist" type.
He's said in this thread he's a Christian Squish.

What? Where? If I was of an Abrahamic religion, I would be Jewish, as I was raised.
Plus, I really don't agree with you saying I'm an ass who trolls when compared to the bigot I'm talking to, who refuses to speak to me because I'm a Godless heathen.

I wouldn't want to speak with you either, seeing as the first thing you did was insult the guy. As for what you said....
Again, refer to what I said; you can have intent all you want, still doesn't mean
you
could kill him, unless you suddenly had powers equal to his own.
That's.... you know, it's not even worth responding to a post like that.
As I said, twice, it's about the intent. The fact that, if I had the power, I would kill God, or have him killed or whatever. I'm not saying I could kill him. I'm saying that if it were possible, I might kill him.
And thinking on something beyond that; if God ever did appear in America, your entire country would be boned; after all, doesn't it say "One Nation under God"? Guess Obama would be gone from the Whitehouse as the Big Guy takes it over.
And as a Christian
, I'm pretty sure he would. Even if we didn't invoke God's name on every bill. I would probably get the hell out of the country before we get God's 'angles,' that is, the divine version of Stalin's special police.

I just facepalmed so hard I nearly broke my nose.
Now I understand taking things out of context, but not reading to the end of the goddamn sentence is...
I failed to come up with any other statement to add on to this that would sufficiently describe how much you just failed.
Stop trolling.

The only troll around here is you Face; you insult anyone and everyone who disagrees with, and act like you somehow know everything over the rest of us. Dial back your arrogance and superiority seriously.

Free will cannot be relative, you either have it or you do not. If god at anytime can stop you from doing something then you truly do not have free will, we are more like pets, being on a leash. I will concede that the sims idea makes sense, but even if that is the case, then why does he let all the evil in the world go on? If he knows of evil and lets evil go on then that makes him malevolent and again why worship something like that?
Why can't it be relative? The fact that he doesn't stop you means that you have it. He lets all the evil go on because he made a commitment to leave the free will setting turned on and doesn't want to interfere, until he's tired of it all and shuts the game down, either saving the families he wants to keep, or not saving and quitting. Damn I love the Sims analogy =D
But its not truly clear. Thou shalt not kill, what about manslaughter? That can be an accident but you still killed a fellow human. Then the line blurs like this on a lot of the "rules" now sure you can shoot back and say that God knows who did it on purpose and who did not but that falls flat, due to the fact that ultimately its gods will who goes where and not what a person has done.
Bottom line is here, why would an all loving God ever send someone to a place like hell, doesn't he "forgive all sins?"
This and this alone is my beef with hell, While I'd be more inclined to believe in a heaven.(even though I do not, I could see the rationale for it more so then a hell)
Thou shalt not murder. Key point here. Legally, we define murder as premeditated killing with intent. God would have his own definition, certainly. But in any event, why take the risk? It's God's rules, it's his playground, if you try to follow by his rules, he'll generally look after you. If you deliberately go out and flaunt his rules, then why should he save you?
I agree with a couple of the others who have posted on what 'hell' is - it's not necessarily fire and brimstone and eternal damnation, but more importantly, it's 'separated from God'. I actually find it somewhat amusing that Revelations was taken so literally by people. Most Christians don't focus on the Hell aspect, they focus on the "you won't be with God" aspect (except for an ever-growing number of Evangelist Christians), at least, from personal experience.

I took the bolded statement before as a 'hypothetically, even as a Christian I would do this', not a statement that he was a Christian.
I make those sorts of statements all the time. But worded slightly more correctly, perhaps.

Me, I think as of now I am a soft athiest, god is a concept that cannot be proven or disproven in any way (of course burden of proof belongs to those trying to prove something true such as god existing)
I think epicurious puts it pretty well
“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?”
An omnipotent all-loving god will not damn someone for eternity
So if there is a hell and people are sent there, then god is a d-bag

Is a tad more insulting than What? What do you mean you can't have one without the other? Of course you can. Use some logic to backup your opinions.
Especially because you were
wrong

No, look at the sentence before. I was referring to Obama giving up the White House to God.
If the sentence's subject is "he," then I find it incredibly difficult to imagine how I'd be talking about myself.

Ah, yep, for some reason, I had the impression that 'he' referred to God taking the top seat.

But the fact that he can stop it means we do not ultimately have free will, sure he will let us be and do what ever we want, until he doesn't want us to do something, that is more like mother with a child, the child does not really have free will, it has its mothers will.
He's the one giving you free will. Of course he can take it away, but while he doesn't, you have it. I'm not sure how that's an issue. The mother and child analogy is perfect - at no point can the mother directly come in and mind control the child. All she can do is tell the child what to do, and the child can decide for itself whether it wants to obey or not.
He is all loving and ever forgiving, that is why he should save us. He is all knowing and therefore should know that humans are fickle creatures and we all at some point rebel against any and all authorities, so he build us with this fatal flaw (if you believe that he created us) knowing that we will break the rules by human design and yet is we are more or less in direct coercion to obey his law.
Would you save the Sims in your game who go out and ruin things and don't operate the way you want them to? Probably not. They're still your creations, and you're sad to see their actions, but you don't necessarily want them. So you don't save them and import them into your Heaven neighbourhood. Edit: More specifically, when they die in-game, you choose not to import them into your Heaven neighbourhood.
sorry for the late response, but sometimes at work I have to work (witch sucks)
Hardly a late response. And yes, working at work is a necessary evil.

The mother cannot, by law, beat her child for disobeying. Isn't this what hell is?

I'm not going to to argue with you. If you don't want to discuss religion, then refrain from posting in threads that are created for the sole purpose of discussing religion... Basically, don't throw rocks if you live in a glass house. I'll also remind you that you called me a d-bag, I simply asked you to, if you're going to participate in debate, do so properly. Note that I did not ask for scientific evidence, but logic. To me, you seem like the D-bag in this situation.

Then please, by all means, don't.
But don't enter a religion discussion thread and attack me for discussing religion.
