WoW doesn't require luck or reflexes?
PvE, not so much. PvE requires teamwork and intense knowledge of class+fight.
PvP is more luck and reflexes (Woot I just crit that guy 25 times in a row!)

Playing video games isn't healthy, playing WoW means playing more video games...its not a hard conclusion for most to come to.
You're a tool of "modern" society - the games isn't the bad part of it, the addiction is.
Take a look at the great set of articles

Guess what causes the addiction?
That's like saying "drugs aren't the problem, the addiction is". Newsflash: It's not the addiction that damages your body (as much as the drugs themselves)

Excessive
gaming, and unhealthy lifestyle that can combined with it. Not gaming in general. Your analogy is faulty.

It is the addiction which damage your body. The compulsive consuption of the drug that it's bad for you. Some drugs won't risk your life is you take them once in a while.

I'm actually not embarrassed at all about my general geekiness. Even the more stereotypically geeky stuff, like DnD, I'm not ashamed to admit I play (although I don't really broadcast it, since there is unfortunately mocking that comes with that). When I played WoW, I let a lot of people know and didn't care;
I even had a WoW hat.
I have a Lich King shirt =D

Admittedly, it was exaggeration. But do you honestly believe that most WoW players lead healthy lifestyles?
I'd be willing to bet money that the average game time per WoW player definitely qualifies as excessive (5+ hours per day) and also that the majority of WoW players do not exercise often or eat healthy.
There are exceptions to the rule, but this kind of lifestyle is definitely a common one among WoW players, and is what gives WoW its reputation.
Again, as I said in my original post (which Gnub cropped out in his quote, of course), I am not talking about the entire WoW population.

Be ashamed of who I am? I learned long ago (high school) that to be ashamed of who you are only makes you a weak person.
One of the first things I ask people who are younger than 40 is if they play video games because if they do, then we're likely to have some interesting conversations regardless of what they play. To Hell with all this "uh... uh... but I'm afraid people won't like me" bull#$%^. If someone feels mighty enough to judge you based on a harmless activity you do for fun, then obviously someone needs to re-examine their place in the world.

Just yesterday in school I was programming an Arduino board, when guy #1 comes over to guy #2 sitting next to me and says "OMG, haha you play WoW? That's like the $%^&tiest, *!@ game ever" to which guy #2 replies "Well what do you play?". Guy #1 proudly says "Counter-strike".
Naturally I start laughing my ass off.
QFT! Had this myself, but I was "guy #2". Took me a while to recover.
Anyway, When it comes to games and people trying to be condescending, I mostly ignore them. If they try do get into a debate, I gladly debate. However 2 things to remember:
1) "Know thy enemy." (know tacts... The Art of War can even be applied in WoW ^^)
2) "Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."
I do play an FPS & RTS (SC2 almost here! Woot!) here and there, but overall I prefer RPG (regardless if MMO or not).
I do not discriminate. To me everyone is an idiot. :D
