RAAAAAAAAARGHH! The angry roar, well more of a rasping scream, rent the cold, wintry air. Fünden glanced behind him, but his vision was receding rapidly in the heavy snow.
I knew we should’ve just stayed in Kharanos today…
he thought disconsolately.
I coulda had a mug o’ ale and a new axe in my hand, but no… we just HAD to go investigate the tunnel.
Gunshots rang from behind Fünden into the Troggs crowding the tunnel like ants in a hill, not that ants lived in Dun Morogh.
“The buggers are pressing out again!” cried his second in command of Stormcross, Khaz. Indeed, the Troggs had begun to boil out of the tunnel.
I knew it! I knew we should’ve stayed home,
Funden mentally screamed. Even so, he lifted his rifle and fired. The thorium slug punched a hole through a Trogg’s head and out the other side.
“Hah!” cried Khaz. “I told ya they had no brains!” Fünden cursed and hurled him a gold coin.
“Ye still owe me ale!” Fünden yelled to Khaz in mock outrage. Khaz just smiled and sliced a Trogg’s head with his axe.
Well, maybe things aren’t all bad…
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Fünden stumped along the streets of Ironforge, along with his crew. Two weeks had passed since they had halted the tide of Troggs through Coldridge Pass. Luckily, they had banged out before the mountaineers had arrived, and so they had no casualties from the bloody battle that came after.
The dwarves had won, barely. The tide of Troggs had been pushed back into the valley, but the dwarves of Anvilmar, Fünden’s former home, were trapped in the valley with the trolls and Troggs. A nasty combination to be sure.
“So what exactly are we doing?” asked Khaz, prodding Fünden’s back. Khaz was now dressed in a heavy ramskin vest with brass studs. He was wearing a plain linen shirt and pants of the finest bear skin. His rifle, a custom made weapon with a mithril barrel and ironwood stalk, was held on his shoulder.
Contrasting him was the dwarf next to them, Fjarngrom. Fjarn wore heavy metal armor, battered steel and tarnished gold inlay. His leggings were tattered leather and steel. His cape was ragged and worn, made of blue wool. His hair was short and black, his beard trimmed short.
In his hands he carried one of the largest guns in Ironforge. It was a huge, black iron contraption of a machine. It sported a large barrel, and the gun itself was a bewildering display of exposed gears and wires, all of which eventually leading into the barrel. The ammo fed into the gun through a large belt, which hung across his shoulders at all times. Each bolt was made by him and marked with unique symbols, giving them the power of the Holy Light.
A former Paladin, Fjarn had seen to much of the world to hold to the tenants of the Church of the Holy Light, but he still worshipped the Light in his own way, killing the unbelievers.
Fünden himself wore a shirt of interlinked mithril chain mail, which cost a fortune. His pants were heavy leather, and tight to give him increased movement. However he wore a cape, a long black thing with silver scrollwork and a crest worked in silver:

His gun was made of mithril, with gold scrollwork, although he kept the end permanently blackened, as a sign of usage. The stock was good oak, still polished.
Fünden looked back at Khaz. "We're here to stock and get ready to head out. Apparently there have been some nasty attacks in the Plaguelands and they want Fjarn's, ah,
methods
of dealing with them. And they want us to come too."
Khaz just shrugged. "Well, better than Troggs all day, eh? What kind o' beer are they givin' us?" Fünden replied, "None. Just gold, and lots of it. Apparently it's a purity test for Paladins to give money to the Church, so they have quite the stockpile for various things."
Khaz nodded and ran a thumb along his axe blade. A fine weapon, the haft was made of heavy polished wood, and the head was steel, inset with various runes. "So we're leaving as soon as we get supplies right?" Fünden replied with an affirmative.
Fjarn prodded Fünden on the shoulder. "So where exactly in th' Plaguelands are we goin'? I don't necessarily want to trudge all over the durn place," he asked in a low, gruff voice. "Andorhol." replied Fünden. "Apparently it's a choke point for the area. The Argent Dawn can't get anyone across the river until they retake Andorhol, and they're having trouble doin' that."
Fjarn tugged his beard. "So who's the target? Or is it the entire city?"
Fünden pulled out a piece of paper. "Well," he started. "Our orders are to cause mayhem so some Argent Dawn operatives can slip into the city and mark some specific places for attack by a larger force. But if we can, we should attack the one known as Araj the Summoner."
Fjarn nodded and slipped back to the other four dwarves, who were currently engaged in a heated debate about whether gnomish or dwarven guns were more powerful. Currently it seemed Gnomish guns were more powerful, but also had a tendency to explode...
Stormcross left the city of Ironforge the next day, heading for the North Gate pass, and later the way to the Plaguelands...
((Alright a few notes. A. I based Fjarn off of the Grey Knights (And kinda Hellsing, but I never really did read it). If you think it is too much of a lore rape, tell me and I can remove him. B. This is set about three months after WoW starts. C. Sorry, the crew from AAaS aren't in here. If you really want I can work them in later.))

Good job. Just watched Losers, and I like this elite-team idea.

*Gives big thumbs up* Great job, and I have a good feeling for the Khaz charcter.
Just so you know I've used the name Khaz in relation to Funden for awhile
(Just in case you think I was copying you,)

Just a lore junky note, I don't think a dwarf would name himself Khaz for the same reason an American wouldn't name himself America, or God. Khaz comes from Khaz'goroth, the Titan.
Otherwise great, :D

Also, I guess my uncle is named Moshe (Moses), and all the Jews called Abraham... Guess you're right.
