Seems like you have an inordinate amount of "My faction is better" syndrome.

Umm... Boo hoo?
We can't do anything about it, we don't honestly want to hear your QQ, nor do we really care... So what's the point of this thread?

That this achievement is a massive PITA, and shouldn't count towards the Meta.

The only hard on is in EoS imo the AB and AV just require you to be stealthy and you can get WSG by camping the flag room.
Doesn't help it's Eye Honour Weekend lol.

You can take your orphan out while running it.
Only if you stop, click the whistle, then start running again. You can't summon the orphan while moving.

Achievement.
something accomplished, esp. by superior ability, special effort, great courage, etc.; a great or heroic deed: his remarkable achievements in art.
No, it's not too hard. Deal with it.

My biggest beef with this achievement is that a lot of people with little to no pvp gear or experience are jumping into these battlegrounds and are having a very, very bad experience, leading them to basically shun pvp for the rest of their WoW careers.
Plowing your way through swaths of 0 resil players, while amusing at the beginning, isn't fun. It's just slaughter. It's not sporting. And it certainly isn't doing any good for the pvp community.
Agreed. I PvP on my Shaman, but my two roommates (Shamans on another server) are under-geared and have no PvP gear at all. However, School of Hard Knocks was the
only
thing they hadn't completed, and so I decided to help them out.
It took quite awhile - probably four hours - but we pulled it off. It was far from easy - when you have no resilience and are getting two-shotted every time you step out the door, you can't really call it "easy" - and of course we had to deal with the profanity and cursing from the people who were there to PvP. I typically defused that situation with a comment like this: "I know you're ticked, and I don't want to be here any more than you do; I'd rather you guys be able to fight out your PvP the way you're used to doing. If you're upset, go tell Blizzard that they're idiots for including a PvP-focused achievement as part of what is otherwise a PvE-oriented meta." I was surprised when this worked most of the time.
Personally, I think it would be fair to have the achievements be specific to your server: If you rolled on a PvP server, the PvP achievements are required, but one or more of the PvE ones aren't, and vice versa for PvE servers.
As an aside: Our battlegroup was being friendly in AV for the most part, and we had Alliance standing in the towers, swapping flag captures with us for achievements. However, a punk Mage kept coming in and trying to Arcane Explosion the Alliance "helpers"; at one point, after the Horde had completely eradicated him, with the rest of us standing back watching him die, most of the Alliance in the tower /spit on his corpse. :P

Further quoted for awesome
I don't cotton to the "go cry somewhere, ya baby". It is incongruous that this is part of the holiday meta-achievement. For the record, i play a "proritbution" paladin with 1k resilence, so getting these were easy for me.
However, I have been helping out non-PVP guildies since Sunday, and its brutal on them. Way to make this entire aspect of the game unpleasant and unrepeatable for casuals! They will never BG again. And that's a shame, its fun in there!

I'm in a similar situation (just over 900 resilience on my Shaman), and this is the part that bothers me the most. My roommate had just started getting into PvP on his own, and was somewhat enjoying it; after the frustrations of yesterday, he's sworn off battlegrounds. It didn't help that in many cases, people on both sides were actively trying to screw up the achievement hunters.

So achievements should just be given to players?
Nope. The other achievements still require quite a bit of time and effort. What is being said is that a primarily PvE meta-achievement should not require PvP. Many people roll characters on a PvE server because they want no part of PvP.
Give them some resilience and bam you'll find that they love them.
Untrue. There are folks out there who do not, nor will not, enjoy PvP in any shape or form; you could give them a full set of Wrathful gear and they still would not enjoy it, because they just don't like the concept of it.
Hell, I like BG PvP; I have ~900 resilience on my Shaman, and occasionally will still get so ticked off when I get stun-locked by yet another Rogue that I won't go into a BG for a week.
I remember when you actually had to work to complete meta achivements for the holiday festivals
You mean, you remember last year? After all, achievements have only been around since Wrath was released, and that was November of 2008; we've only had one complete cycle of holiday achievements so far.
