I agree with Squishy's belief in human stupidity (wouldn't call it religious), and also with his embrace of capitalistic market forces.
Never implied it was religious, but I think you knew that already. I believe it as much as I believe in evolution. It works for me as a theoretical basis for the world, and it's yet to be empirically disproven. :)
And that's a remarkably good justification for capitalism. Bravo.

I think I'll opt for capitalism, as it is the "least flawed".
Clearly not in pretty much any case where there has been a clash between the rights of humans and the rights of property. For example, in Nigeria, Royal Dutch Shell and Chevron. In England, child workers and their employers. In America, Australia and every third world country, the native inhabitants. African Americans. Healthcare. Education. Obesity. Advertising. Mercenaries: both constabulary and national guard. In each of these instances, capitalism has a notably harmful effect. Where it may have been useful, such as in limiting the military budget or the natural collapse of unsustainable industries it has been avoided.
At any rate, if all humans are equally stupid, then communism would be the best form of government since each individual would contribute their own stupidity. If there are a few enlightened individuals such as Squishalot, then we ought to form a meritocracy or benevolent dictatorship. If one actually holds the principle that human beings have an inherent worth, then the best system would probably be that of
mixed institutions

First of all, I don't think all humans are equally stupid. Secondly, why would they contribute? Why is it that in this blissful understanding of communism that liberals have, for some reason everyone just contributes and the sun is shining and everything is wonderful. Unfortunately, communism is a one way street to dictatorship, and usually a brutal one that kills many of its people. Capitalism, as you show, leads to some people being poor and hungry. Communism leads to all people being poor and hungry. I'm not saying capitalism is some perfect government. I'm not that naive. I'm just shocked at how much faith people put into their government controlled markets, as if that is going to solve poverty. As if a politician's decisions are much much better than the consumers. Astounding.
