Well if she doesn't want it, she can say 'no'. I find the way the term 'rape' is being thrown at this as cheapening and demeaning to actual rape victims, you know, women who are sexually forced, without the option of saying 'no'.

Let me just ask this:
Are the women who voluntarily go in to have (trans-womanly) ultrasounds just so they can get a picture of thier kid, having 'sex' with the technician?

This is an unnecessary procedure, which the patient is bound by law to undertake. It is rape.
No she's not. She can say no at any time, and the doctor will listen to her request. If she does, she has to either have the child, or have it aborted in another state.
It's immoral and disgusting to make a law which encourages unnecessary medical procedures in a transparent attempt to make abortion more difficult than it already is. Legally, it's akin to the laws used by the south following the collapse of Reconstruction such as the grandfather clause to get around a Supreme Court decision on loopholes. But fundamentally, the women are asked a yes or no question at a time when they are competent to answer it, and their answer of 'no' will be respected. Not rape.

A woman in Oklahoma is pregnant, it's ectopic. She's bleeding internally because of it. She's now in a hospital in Oklahoma, and due to her injuries she must decide whether to terminate the pregnancy and go through this disgusting procedure, or potentially bleed to death.
Deny that this could happen. Deny that this would eventually happen to someone, given enough time. Tell me you're okay with this.
I'm more ok with this than I am with the murder of a baby, even to the extent of this being my own wife, whom I love dearly, more than I love myself. To question my devotion to being anti-abortion is to not know me.

I agree with this. The law should be 'Abortion is illegal', and this is not the way to go about it. However,
it isn't rape
. To call it rape is either lacking in knowledge, or a willingness to cheapen actual rape for political gain.

Are you implying that only sex is rape?
^&*!@#l Ultrasounds are unnecessary in most cases, non-invasive abdominal ultrasounds are far more common.
If a woman wants a @#$%^&l ultrasound, then let her. Nobody should be forced to, ever.
Rape:
The crime of engaging in sexual acts, esp. involving penetration of the !@#$%^ or anus, usually forcibly, with a person who has not consented.

Actually, does this apply to entopic pregnancies, as in DoctorLore's example?
If it does, then in that specific case only, I'd call a legally required $%^&*!l ultrasound legally sanctioned rape.
And MyTie, when you link that definition, are you referring only to the 'with a person who has not consented'?

@pezz, the definition was a reply to this:Are you implying that only sex is rape?because the dictionary says 'sexual acts'.
Be
definition
, this procedure is not rape.

So a man who forcibly inserts his <insert object which is not attached to his body nor is it explicitly marketed as a sex toy> into a woman's $%^&*!, despite her adamant request not to have it done, is not necessarily a rapist? Or simply the fact that a person can think 'I'm not INTENDING to rape her' while he does it can make it not rape?

If she requests not to have it done, the doctor won't do it. And it's a medical procedure, no matter how you try to portray it as sexual.
1) It isn't sexual.
2) It wouldn't be done without consent.
I don't think that the law is going about outlawing abortion the correct way. I certainly wouldn't vote for it. However, I don't appreciate the cheapening of rape by making this comparison.

I told my wife about this news thread and asked her take on it:
She said that she had this type of ultrasound before with our daughter (my step daughter). She said that it wasn't any more uncomfortable than a tampon, and that she could see the baby very clearly. She said that she wouldn't compare it to rape at all. She said that would be "really ridiculous" to make that comparison.
She said the tool was warmed before it was used, that it wasn't done in a 'dark' room, that it wasn't done by a male, and a number of other things that make it non comparable to the act described in that biased link.
Anyway, an objective look at the definition of rape excludes this act from being properly labeled as 'rape'. So, to everyone that would like to scream 'rape', I encourage you to go read a dictionary.
I'm off to play wow. Good day!
