Get the trinket in Heroic Pit of saron,
With your gears, you aren't suposed to pull less than 7k IMO. If you get the trinket + your 4 piece t10 bonus, you should be around 8-10k dps.
And I personally don't like IS neither IIS.
Either that, grats on your T10 piece !

I only see 1 blue gem. Your meta isn't active. Fix that.
Trinkets are awesome. (try to pick up a Reign of the Dead/Unliving if you can)
Hit rating is good.
If you can, make gear choices that trade haste for crit. You're way over the soft haste cap but still under the soft crit cap. Picking up the 264 idol will help with this. The 4pT10 will add ~3-5% dps.
Gemming needs reworking, and it will also help you get the soft crit cap (sp+crit gems to activate sp socket bonuses).
Try to pick up some hit rating gear and trade your Abracadaver for a Nibulung, it's a nice staff with a blue socket in it. (hint hint). Having hit on your weapon is difficult to deal with, as gear swapping becomes more complicated.
Trade glyph of insect swarm for glyph of Starfire. Make sure to extend every moonfire with it if possible. When using the 245 idol, remove IS from your rotation entirely and only cast it on motion. Keep moonfire up at all times.
As mentioned before, moving 1 point from Gale winds to Owlkin Frenzy will get you more boss dps, notably on Blood Queen (bloodbolts), Dreamwalker (Lay Waste), Lich King (Infest), etc.
After all that is done, you can worry about rotation and movement. A parse would be useful to see what you're doing.

This chart suggests gemming for SP/Haste in yellow sockets that give any amount of SP even after the haste and crit caps are reached. I was under the impression that this was only a good idea if you were getting 7+ SP per non-red gem (after the caps).
5+ SP post cap, 3+ pre cap.
8+ for blues.

crit 975 (soft is 1000 right?)
And what is the soft crit cap again? Is it 1575?
1575.5 - int/3 - idol
Where the int value is what is listed on your armory.

Rightio firstly in case I've got a rubbish name set up on here, I'm Aeiedil from Strayegg :)
Regarding blue gems, you are basically looking at 12 spell power / 10 spirit + socket bonus vs 23 spell power, so 10 spirit + socket bonus needs to equal 11 spell power. 10 spirit = 3 spell power, so the socket bonus needs to be
at least
8 spell power, 8+3 = 11 and therefore == the 23 spell power of a runed, with the benefit of a marginal amount of mana regen (irrelevant really in ICC gear) - from a personal standpoint I prefer hitting socket bonuses though ;)
Regarding Reckless. The smallest socket bonus I've seen is 5 spell power off the top of my head. What you are comparing is 11 spell power to 10 haste + 5 spell power, or another way, is 10 haste more valuable than 6 spell power? Graylo values 1 haste as == 0.6784 spell power when past both soft caps (achievable in ICC gear), and therefore that 10 haste == 6.784 spell power. Carrying this on, if the socket bonus is less than or equal to 4 spell power (giving a 7 spell power or greater loss) then it is better to socket Runed.
Now where it gets complicated is multi-socket items. Take an item with a blue + a yellow (ignore red for now, they are runed always). In this instance you are looking at wanting to make up a 7 spell power loss from a purified and a 5 spell power loss from a reckless. Strictly speaking then, unless you have at least 12 spell power socket bonus, then you should go straight runed.
I realise on that basis I have socketed badly on my legs and stuff, but this is something I'll be correcting shortly :) When I've finished screwing around with my gear so much :D (see legs @

Simonh:
If your below haste/crit softcaps, then the value of haste/crit (reckless/potent) is higher.
So if your below any of the caps, its probably worth socketing a yellow with corresponding orange gem. Otherwise you would need the 7 spellpower for it to be worth it, that sounds right to me.

Your pants as I see that at this posting on armory do appear to be socketed slightly off, yes. However if you swap to a weapon set other then your Nibelung for BQL, since valks don't scale with bite or the ICC buff, then it might be beneficial to keep the set as is or change out the gem in your staff instead. This allows you to have a different weapon set with strong raw stats during that fight specifically.
All in all slightly less optimal but greater flexibility for that fight.
