Most of it shouldn't be GS or that stuff as it takes away from the feel of the game.
There are still PUGs and raids, but get used to the feel of just more... WoW in it.

Honestly, it's like a normal server unless you can find a guild who heavy RP's or a a group who heavy RP's. At least, any RP server I've been on (And I've tried a lot of them.)

An epic experience, barring one thing...
Goldshire is like 4chan.

I suggest trawling the RP realm forums and checking how active they are.
And dang, seeing your old posts is weird.

Or you could roll a low-level and check out the RP-servers. And stay the hell out of goldshire.

Pretty much the same as any other server from my experience, just have to find a worthwhile RP guild.

I have been playing wow on and off for years, and have found the best way to play is questing. I also recommend interacting with other players and inviting them when they are working on the same quest or if you see they are in trouble. Just help them out especially if you are a higher level. Trust me they will never forget it, and when I have been helped I eventually run into that player again and help them out or give them some gear they need for free. This way you are not stuck to a guild and time frames and scheduled this or that. you can just enjoy the game at your own pace and go where you want when you want. It's awesome for me. Sometimes I play for hours and sometimes I am to busy to play for a few days. So it works ....
