21/50/0 : Hybrid build for tank Keleseth and soloing old dungeons ?

Do you think this build (and glyphs)
21/50/0
was viable for tanking Keleseth ?
I know it was not optimal, but I can't manage it with my first build (a classic 0/15/56) and I wanted to have a second build to soloing old dungeons like mana tombs with felguard (I'm patient, so in hard fight, I use Health Funnel and dots)
For those who said "No specific build was required for tanking Keleseth", I said them I have actually a
0/30/41
build for Keleseth and I wipe twice with it... because I forget to use Soul Link the first two try. With SL, we don't have any problems, so I'm thinking that some damage reduction was required.
Some precisions on my choices :
- I don't take Improved CoA because I don't want to kill dark nuclei
- With Felguard, my rotation is Corruption / Health Funnel and when my threat is not too high some other spell (SB, DL, etc...). At 35% or less, I wanted to switch to SF with Decimation. If my threat is too high, I switch to Drain Life with SB when Nightfall up.
- Suppression... was the less worst choice
- Demonic Pact was not for Solo, but for Keleseth. We have a real problem of DPS because all big DPS waste all their time to Kinetic Bomb, so maybe this will help them a little.

any standard PvE or PvP build will work fine for tanking keleseth but just use two normal tanks, don't bother using a ranged tank for it.
edit: to be clear, both builds you linked are painfully bad.

You maybe right, and maybe I don't play like you, or maybe your gear (and your guild gear) are better than mine...
but in the fact, with a standard PVE build I failed to tank Keleseth and with the 0/30/41 build I have no problem. I take all talents with damage reduction, and all talents usefull for Searing Pain (Improved SP and all with more crit).

The fact that you can do X better with Y does not prove that Y is better for the job than Z. I just means that you personally can use Y correctly and not use Z correctly.

i didn't say what i did to sound elitist or superior. i've said in other threads that my guild runs several alt raids and our alt-alt run still does it with 2 tanks.
if you don't want to do it with 2 real tanks then just learn the fight and you really don't need to be doing anything special with spec or gear. you'll need some spam healing at the start until the first 3 dark nuclei spawn and are on you but after that you just want to pile on the nuclei and spam for threat in between.
my one top tip for that encounter is a pally healer having beacon on the keleseth tank at all times (whether you use a ranged tank or normal one). they're moving so much that they can get out of range of healers easily. beacon prevents that.

Ok, I will make some new try without a specific build. Unfortunately, we don't have any true pally healer in guild ;o)

ok well you'll want to organise things a little more than some other raid-groups might.
have a healer concentrate on you and have them positioned in the middle of the room. everyone in the raid needs to know that the healer stays where they are during things like 'empowered shock vortex' and everyone else moves away from them.
this should allow you to move as much as you need to to get all the nuclei you need.
get pet classes to look out for lights on the floor (including you) and send the pet after the kinetic bomb.

Pets like imp have enough dps for be usefull on kinetic bomb ? It's a great news !

indeed, DoTs are good for it but pets are ideal since they're "fire and forget". just don't put a shadow priest on bomb duty because mind flay does not effect them at all.

Again, these numbers mean absolutely nothing in regarding which spec is better/worse. You'd have to have a sample of 1000+ attempts to make any sort of accurate statement about damage taken, and even then, you can take way more damage with your build than with any other build if you don't pick up orbs. It's that simple - any class/spec can do it, hell, you could even spec 0/0/0 and still do it. This fight is NOT about spec, but about mechanics. Play the mechanics correctly and you'll win, regardless of spec. Granted, there are of course advantages to having say Soul Link, but those are not the factor that will wipe you or allow you to live.

I don't take Soul Leach and ISL because other classes have Replenishment.
I'm agree that fight mechanism is important, but I think maybe 0/30/41 allow me to do more errors without wipe... and when I move in all the room, trying to avoid cyclone and other players, with a half screen full of nuclei it's hard to don't do an error or two ;o)
I generally take at least one bump from a cyclone during the fight.
Spudnik : The two reports linked was played with the same strategy. So, with your logic, if I can win with this strategy (and with 0/30/41), I can win with 0/15/56... but it's not true actually.
Strategy was maybe 95% of the fight, and build 5%, but this 5% can make the difference between wipe and staying alive...
