If there's no resistance, you'll only need one tank and one healer...
Yer. Shammy healer x2 and a tank., then just let them chainspam everyone. Win Win.

Server population isn't such a big deal as how much people care to fight you.
City full of people doesn't matter when they're sitting at the AH and don't care what you're doing.
You think we care enough about Varian to save him? Bah.
If you have a full 40 raid group that moves en mass you won't have many problems.
That's a huge number of healers. You should be fine with a handful.
I'd say 3 to 5 healers and 2 or 3 tanks will be fine as dps will burn anything that's not Thrall down pretty well. Healing will be fine as long as they're AoE based healers with a focus on the tanks.
You're free to stack tanks and heals abit extra on that but too much more and you're just going to get a big healing overlap for overhealing and dry rage tanks/low dps off tanks just in case.

I'm on Illidan and I don't think I've once seen a TRUE resistance.
Sure, we wander over there a few times, but most the raids I've seen were fail in the first place.
Most Horde players don't do jack squat (myself included)
(Then again, I did see that one mage from LULULULULUL or w/e WRECK a raid once with the H pally from the same guild. It was pretty sweet.)
