Making gold and never stops ? Why ?

Goblins of the world ( of warcraft ), I gotta ask you: do you have a reason to keep making gold ?
At some point, you are making way more gold than you can spend on a normal day ( repairs, food, gems, enchants, etc... ).
So, how do you use that well earned gold ? Do you spend it on "useless" items ( pets, mounts, etc... ) ? Do you buy BoE epics even they are just barely an upgrade or if you want them for a 3rd/4th/17th spec ? Do you save to buy a specific item in a GDKP run ? Do you buy the services of a tank for your heroics ? Do you try to hit the mythic gold cap ? Or maybe, you are just happy to have a lot of gold and like to tease gold beggars to putting 10k gold in their trade window and go /afk for a while.
I am currently saving to buy H Death's Choice for my druid and I am spending a lot in ICC 25 GDKP runs to gear my warrior for pvp.

I would expect that most of us enjoy it. Finding new ways to earn gold is a challenge that is absent from the grinds most people do to make gold.

This is, in fact, pathetically easy.

Some do. I'm not fond of frivolity.
Some do. I don't spend enough time out of my main spec to bother.
Some do. I don't get any meaningful gear from GDKP runs.
Some do, although the expenditure is laughable. I'm a tank, so it isn't needed.
I hit the gold cap on my bank alt a long time ago. I'm working on triple.
Some do. There aren't enough beggars on my server to bother.
Me, I just like being able to tell my guild that I'm covering raiding expenses for the next two months with one lump sum deposit to the guild bank.

Is this somehow to infer that getting a lot of gold is less noble or legit than getting a lot of gear?

Some people just like to see their wallet get bigger.
The same way some players like to see the number that pops up when they hit stuff get bigger.
Warcraft is about making numbers bigger.
Level
Honor
Gearscore
Money
Achievement Points
Stats
etc.
This comes to mind:

Not sure this makes a lot of sence? normally for pvp I'm in pvp gear which doesn't drop in icc....try running arenas, bg, and wg, instead...
My warrior got every gear he can get in arenas ( full wrathful besides helm, shoulders and t2 ) but the pvp warrior scale huge with PvE gear ( DBW trinket, rotface 10 belt, saurfang 25 leather bracers, etc... ).
Since I raid as prot, the easiest to obtain PvE gear for my pvp off-spec is GDPK runs.

Yes.
I think very much like real life, there's always something to spend gold on in WoW. There are some who struggle to pay their bills (repair) and some that have fancy houses (personal guild bank) and lots of cars (mounts). Some make large donations to charity (beggers, guildies, friends), some invest it (power leveling), and some just save it (hitting gold cap).
Personally I buy BoEs for my alts so they can start raiding soon after hitting 80. If there were GDKP runs on my server I'd probably spend some money there, but not much since as a tank I'd probably make money from all the DPS buying.

Most of them is to see if they can reach the gold cap. Gevlon was to prove stuff (read his blog, it worth it).

Indeed

A real true goblin wont spend his gold on useless stuff. Buying pet/mount/etc is a
social behavior
, something real goblins avoid. They neither buy BoE because it is pointless to spend 2k gold to get +3 str/stam when you can clear most content (Ulduar)
with only blue items
.
Personally, I have gold to supply my alts mounts (I have 11 lvl 80) and their professions and I like to keep a 30k gold of spare, just in case. I stop making gold when I am over 30k. (I also bought a chopper for my main because it is the only mount that make you get lower, so for a female tauren, it is a bliss to not have to dismount to pass some doorway).

Pointless to buy gears. It wont save you from failure.

I do read Greedy Goblin.
I used the term "Goblin" to describe a player who can generate way more gold than he needs.
Let's call it instead, the "AH player", let's reserve "Goblin" to players who use gold as a goal instead of a tool to reach other goals.

Gevlon proved a valid point by killing Yogg with blue gear but most "AH players" do spend a lot of gold on gear ( I saw a player giving 60k gold for a Dislodged Foreign Objects ) because they think it's the best way to spend high amount of gold.
Most players who buys gear for a really high amount of money ( mainly trinkets and weapons ) are PvPers because with the current state of PvP, items like DBW, DFO or BoTB can make a difference in arenas.

If I had insane amounts of gold I would buy Rusted/Ironbound Protodrake carries. (Blizz gives 310% mounts to the best raiders, best PVPers, and other highly dedicated players ; is it so wrong for the best moneymakers to have access to 310% mounts as well?)
Beyond that, maybe a hilt?
On many servers, hilt is way overrated.
Buy a 1k 2s arena team and pay a good arena player to carry you to 1800, you'll usually have a way better weapon and you can use choose wich kind.
If I did'nt liked my red proto and my swift flight form so much, I would probably like the Ironbound ( 50k on my server for a full run ).
