My first ever toon was an undead warlock. I remember complaining to my buddy that got me started on the game how looooonggg it took to level (the lock was 14 at the time haha). In addition I remember meleeing mobs fight alongside my Blueberry. I had skinning and leatherworking as my professions, and didn't understand why on earth I couldn't wear the armor I made!
Oh, and I remember having my talent points spread relatively evenly between all three specs.
Several 80's later...
Yeah I do NOT miss those days haha.

After making a druid alt a friend informed me that I needed to keep my weapon skill up to be able to hit things while in animal forms. Every time I leveled I faced a tedious grind in elf form whacking things with my weapon to get those 5 points before I could resume being a cat. This continued well into my 30's, when another friend (who actually played a druid) asked wtf I was doing and laughed at me.
(In my defense Alamo wasn't teeching us how 2 durid yet.)

TBH I kinda miss those days where the world was so big...
Me too. When everything was new and looking around was fun and exciting in itself.
The first time I was in Undercity I couldn't figure out how to get out. Cursed different floors! Finally HS back to Org.

Oh, and I remember having my talent points spread relatively evenly between all three specs.
I didn't use my first twenty or so talent points. I didn't believe in them as they didn't really add anything to the game. Silly talent points.
These days of course I follow accepted wisdom in the talent trees. I kind off miss the days of naive noobishness (noobitity?) when it didn't matter. Running around in Azeroth discovering was what it was all about. I can mine Mithril! I can mine Mithril!

I went to grom'gol instead of orgrimmar at lvl 10.
I have a certain hatred for raptors.

I miss the days when the world was super huge and I was always scared in Duskwood cause of the atmosphere, The feeling of seeing new zones. Ahh the good old days.
This ^^ Except add Western Plaguelands in there.
Heh, walking a lowbie undead past the Bulwark and staring face to face with a "?" diseased bear will be in my nightmares forever.
Also, the first time I tried to get some Blood of Heroes . . . didn't end up very well.
Gatta love Welcome Bear.

Me too. When everything was new and looking around was fun and exciting in itself. Yeah, makes me real nostalgic just thinking about it. When I first started leveling in Wetlands on my hunter... ah, good times.
I remember being around level 23-24 and following the coast of the Wetlands all the way to the pathway that leads into Arathi Highlands. I got jumped by about half a dozen skull-level vultures that just sorta poured off the mountainside onto the path. Yeah, they were actually aggressive back then.
It was quite a bit of fun though, never knowing just what was around the corner. Now I don't think there is a single stretch of land in-game that I haven't seen on one character or another, which is nice in it's own right. But it's just not the same kind of fun anymore.
I'm hoping that with all the changes in Cataclysm, it'll bring back some of that "newbie" excitement.

1.I have a friend that leveled all the way to 60 just by grinding back in TBC.
Everyone was calling him a bot till my other friend told him that there are quests :D
2.Some of my things were that I've spent like 2 weeks in Darkshire becouse I couldn't figure out where to go next.
3.Or the good old getting lost in Undercity, that was hillarious,I actually went to youtube to try and find a video "How to get out of Undercity". I knew there was a "elevator" or something, but I didn't know the entrance was actually behind a wall,
4.And I also had a friend that didn't use his talent points till like lvl 40 and one day I wend to his house and I was like"Why are you hitting so low..." and I was looking around and found out he didn't even knew what a Talent point is. That was awesome :D
5.And as some of you already said,I was confuse with the Hogger, till one 70 saw me getting killed and grouped with me, and he killed him and I was like "Haha pwnd"
Those days were epic...

I remember wanting
this
for my
hunter
so bad that I would secretly ninja a high level item from the gbank to sell every day until I had the gold to buy it..I only wanted it because it looked cool at the time.
Also, I don't know why but it bugs me:Cry Havoc! and let loose the dogs of war -Julius Caesar
I believe it was Antony who said this, over Caesar's body after the funeral.

Continuing the tangent:
Shakespeare was well aware of the use of the meaning of havoc and he used 'cry havoc' in several of his plays. The 'cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war' form of the phrase is from his Julius Caesar, 1601. After Caesar's murder Anthony regrets the course he has taken and predicts that war is sure to follow.
ANTONY:
Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.
