Hello guys.
Before I quit WoW over 12 months or so ago, I decided to disenchant my mages level 80 gear. It wasn't brilliant stuff, but a lot of it was heroic stuff and some Naxx gear.
Now my mage is totally naked and I want to play him again.
What would your advice to me be in order to get my self geared for heroics?
I have max tailoring, so I could maybe tailor my self some gear. Apart from not being an idiot in the future, what advice would you give me in order to get my naked self geared again.
Many thanks

Many thanks for the reply guys.
I only have about 2K gold at the moment, so I can't really buy BOE epics even if I'd like too!
However, I notice the Frostsavage set, it is junk, but would it be viable for HC's whilst I try and get as many badges as possible?
Cheers

If you have quests left in Northrend it might be smart to do a few of those if they reward you with gear that's useful to you (check the rewards before you waste your time doing them!) as it's a shame wasting mats/money on the Frostsavage set as you'll replace it so fast it's not even funny.
The Frostsavage set would however been good enough to start doing Heroics (the original ones from WotLK release) and ToC and the 3 ICC dungeons on normal mode. Once you get some pieces of gear from those, you should be able to go into Heroic for the last 4 as well.

if i were in the situation, i would first try to find someone i know from back when i did play, or if that wasn't possible i would befriend someone in a decent guild. then have them take me through some heroics and 10/25 ToC, full 200ilvl+ epics in less than 24 hours played time.
this coarse obviously requires a personally capable of befriending someone in such a manner, but it's not so hard.

Since they dropped the cd on high-end cloth the prices for items that use it have gone down, but that also makes it much easier to just make your own.
Buy a "starter set" of greens on the AH, finish up some quest lines and check your rep vendors to fill in the blanks, then run normal dungeons and a random daily heroic until you have enough gold/mats to craft some higher level stuff.
Alternatively find a few mates willing to run you through ToC and ICC5s on normal, you can literally get all the gear you need to start chaining heroics and running ToC10/25 from these four dungeons, though the drop rate on some items might drive you batty.
And don't neglect gems and enchants on this gear, using the next-best is certainly viable and it really does make a difference.
