level combat, sub is painful compared to it. Then respec at 80. And yes sub is good for pvp. But it's daggers now using backstab as your main attack and hemo only when you can't backstab. Shadow dance for saps and ambush eviscerate burst.

can u link some combat pvp builds I can level with? Everywhere I look I see assassination builds 44/2/25 or 54/5/12 . Not not having much luck finding a combat pvp build.
You don't really pvp much as combat, not since arena season 2. I'm a bit confused though as to what you want. You want a build that levels well and you can still defend yourself? If so then you might consider this:

Go 2/2 imp sinister strike then 5/5 relentless strikes in sub, then continue up combat with dual wield spec/precision/imp snd and so on. Slow mh, fast offhand (though it's not as important for a fast offhand until you get combat potency)

Sub is fantastic in PVP. You will soon run into someone with resiliency pouring out of their eyeballs, but you can generally just run around ambushing everyone's face off. Cloth stands no chance, leather takes a little bit of effort, and metal/plate takes a little creativity but can be done.
Then, when you get Shadowstep and Shadow Dance, the fun really begins!

because we can now gain experience in bg, I only want a pvp build. I dont care for a leveling build. It will take a long time to hit 80 but at this point I have other 80s to raid with etc etc. I jst rolled a rogue just for pvp. I am only looking for a viable pvp build. I was asking originally if sub was good for pvp, not to level with.
oooo, I got it now. Um, I personally would still go combat for low level pvp due to your lack of abilities at low levels. Once you get high enough to get hemo then you can switch to sub and continue on from there if you plan on leveling strictly through bgs. something like this probably

Then branch out into this:

Leading into this:

Until you hit 80 at which point you can get daggers and go shadowdance ambush/backstab

I might be just werid but I find leveling as sub way more fun and safer. I am currently lvl 26 right now. I was combat before and I die lots and lots of time. After each kill I would take a lot of damage.
Currently I am sub now and loving it! My ambush hits so much hitter and mobs die a lot quicker and I take less damage as well. I like the challenge to setup my rotation behind the enemies and Hit them hard!
I am with you. I started as subtlety five years ago and, in between multiple combacks and multiple "LEVEL AS COMBAT!111WTF!" threads, I stayed with it. I even tried my nuts off to get HaT to work. I gave that up when I couldn't even hang with a priest in Hellfire Ramparts! So, I am dual specced.
However, I only switch over to mutilate when in an instance. I immediately switch back when running around the world. When leveling, I basically alternated between two "rotations".
Premed, shadowstep, ambush, eviscerate, kill and then ...
Ambush, eviscerate, whack, whack, kill.
Running around the world in sub also cust down on your corpse runs because of the unmatched escapability of the rogue. I can't count the number of times I was engaged on a target only to get jumped by someone and escape both threats ... and then come back to crush the fool who interrupted my progress.

as far as glyphs looks like,
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42964
,
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42961
, and finally
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45769
when i reach that level would be the best. Anyway thanks for your input guys.
I personally would go with glyph of hemorrhage over glyph of garrote, there's math out there about how the debuff is equivalent to a crapload of attack power and you'll use hemo far more than garrote. Glyph of eviscerate is a nice one, but it's a matter of personal preference. I like glyph of preparation being able to prep kick and dismantle (that's the big one). Cloak glyph is really good, can't argue with that choice.
Edit: Use a slow non dagger mh and a fast offhand for hemo spec, even though daggers got buffed with it you still lose dps. It's just not as horrible now with daggers. I think they made this change to give shadow dance rogues a viable strike when they can't backstab.

So beseba why would you not take the imp ambush? 50% crit with ambush seems like it would be a good thing to take as sub im not really experienced with it but just looking at it seems like it would be a good thing to have especially for pvp
The spec I posted isn't a dagger sub spec, ambush is only usable with daggers right now. It's changing in cata but we aren't there yet. You could weapon swap to a dagger but then you have to sink 2 more points into opportunity in order for it to be worth a *!@#.

Oh I thought we were talking about using daggers my bad
it's cool. I was initially confused about what the OP wanted myself XD. If you read it, you'll see why lol.

get the venerable mass of mcgowan. The scarlet kris is a good offhand, but 1.5 is too fast for a mainhand for any spec except mutilate raiding.
Also, the reason you don't use daggers for a mainhand in the beginning is because it requires at the bear minimum level 19 to even do anything. I.E.
http://www.wowhead.com/talent#f0xcZZ0b
Even then you'll be energy starved like hell. It would take you til level 32 to make a backstab spec even worth considering and even then you wouldn't have ambush.
http://www.wowhead.com/talent#f0xcZZ0b
Level 42 you'd gain ambush....
http://www.wowhead.com/talent#f0ec0xZZtbbbhM
You see where I'm going with this? Get the mass and sinister strike the hell out of some people until you're high enough to respec and get hemo. Which coincidentally gives you access to the best rogue cooldown for bgs, preparation.
