do yourself a favour and save the money for a respec
the advice from abulurd is not optimal (well, its bad...i was just polite)
for a PvP spec CoEx and grim reach are not optional, improved CoA and improved fear are, suppression depends on your hit rating
affliction is not the best spec for soloing instances, this honour goes to demo (that does not mean we are bad at it)
i play on a PvP server and level / quest always in PvP gear and spec (the only time i swich to PvE gear and spec is inside instances)
read the stickies (the reason you get this comment in almost all posts in the warlock forum is: they are actually THAT GOOD)

The best build for soloing instances is not very good for PvP. Since you have only one spec left you have to choose whether you want to go for it or an affliction PvP spec. And yes, you can solo most outland instances with a 54/17/0 build.

For affliction pvp coex and grim reach are optional. 10% more coa is better than 10 extra yards.
Coex is also personal preference, you might like it I dont.
The first spec is one of the most reccomended soloing/leveling specs in the world.
Affliction does fine for soloing bc instances.
Troll harder nub.

1. huh? where did you get this idea? for a BG without a single dispeller...maybe
2. "Why CoEx if i have improved fear and glyphed shadowflame?" a question i get asked a lot
the answer is: range. if you fight a warrior for example then shadowflame > CoEx, but if you fight a paladin and he comes into range of your shadowflame you are doing it wrong (there should be a 15 yard "no go" zone around you...something almost impossible to do without CoEx)
I wont further discuss the grim reach / CoEx thing but if you find any high rated PvP aff lock without them...tell me.
3. never said it wasnt
4. thats what i said
5. avoid getting corrected by not posting bad advice

Dark Pact's a keeper I think, not sure about ImpFH tho. Can still dark pact without it and will prolly have the VW anyway, tanking for soloing and sacrificing for pvp. I'm thinking the points in ImpFH could be moved to ImpDS for the threat reduction, or mebbe Demonic Brutality for increased VW threat and a better sacrifice (pvp bonus), or even ImpCoW for (less damage taken by VW = less healing needed = less threat generated from healing...)
If you are going with the VW you dont need DP. In fact, he will go OOM sometimes in long fights even without stealing his mana. DP only works with iFH and a shifted imp (which is no option).
