The question that I have, is it truely that much of a DPS/DD loss from Destro to Demo?
it shouldn't be, no. there should be barely any different in personal output between the two specs once you've got used to a new one so there's definitely something missing.
gemming is pretty good though you could be using some orange "reckless" (sp/haste) gems to pick up some more socket bonuses but that would be an incredibly minor improvement so that's not the culprit.
you're way over hit capped. 446 is the hard cap and you can assume that you'll get 4% as an alliance in 25man raids (make sure you're in a group with a draenei and your raid leader should be making sure you have a Spriest or boomkin).
there's some stats to be saved there but, again, that's not the culprit.
my guess would be that you need to think more about how you can best use meta, making sure you get immo aura in when ever possible (eg. when doing saurfang ask if your raid really needs you on add duty since you will do more if you stay with the melee). practice at reacting quickly to molten core and decimation procs and make sure you have things like demonic empowerment macro'd into your SB.

nope, i really don't think your problem is a gearing issue. you could certainly use more haste and if that came at the expense of hit and crit it would be no bad thing but none of those sorts of concerns can account for a ~4k drop in DPS. it will most likely be a fundamental thing just to do with getting used to demo.
another tip, while i think of it, is to plan a bit more with tapping. you never want to waste GCDs during meta on taps so get to full mana before hitting meta. the same goes for as much of the decimation phase as possible and if you can overlap meta and decimation you're in for some excellent numbers.
it will be little things like that clicking into place that really raise your output.

One thing to try is just set aside 30 minutes or an hour and go to the training dummy and work on maximizing meta uptime, procs, dot uptime etc.
The only reason you should lose 4k dps is not having practice, practise more and you'll most likely see that 4k come back.

some rules of thumb
when you have the LT glyph, never cast a damaging spell without the buff up.
corruption needs to be up 100% of the time for MC procs (MC also buffs SF)
since the last patch making immo ticks crit, immo is better DPET than SF. if it will last its full duration you should cast it even sub-35%
same goes for CoD. don't cast it when it won't tick (less than 1min to live). don't replace it with CoA.
if no one else in the raid is bringing the ISB debuff (aff, demo, fire mage, frost mage) then you should cast it.

Immo has always been higher DPET than SF.

not unerringly so.
it varied at gear points. not so any more.
