I can't decide between these 2 weps. I dont know which one to go for, I have got scourgelord's baton in my bank for some time now (no one else wanted it), both would be a gd upgrade for Illumination but can't decide which one?
You never know if they're both gonna drop in the run, if bonespike drops i roll and get, then Nibelung drops then.... yeah. I need help to decide which is better, please help!

Nibelung is better.
That being said link your armory to confirm it as there are a few cases where it will not be.

Nibelung is generally considered better unless you have a solid 264/264 MH/OH combo. The major exception to this is better gearing
*
as a result of the hit on the Baton. If you can't hit the cap without the baton that would really be the only time you want to use it.
* - Hit is bad for weapon slots in ICC gearing because there are far better locations to get it from and it makes moving to the better pieces, for hit, fairly difficult if you are cutting it close with your current gearing.
Edit: BQL is a not a strong fight for Nibelung as the Valks do not gain the bonus from her bite so in that case Spike+Baton is a very viable choice.

Also the valks die from her aoe damage very fast :(
Mine only every went down during Bloodbolt Whirl. I use the Bonespike+Baton on this fight now though as the raw stats are much better.

I actually had Sundial + abyssal rune and replaced Sundial with Spyglass cuz I wanted the haste from abyssal rune, then i got fetish. Maybe I'll buy sundial and keep fetish for the gear checks :) hehe.

Thats if they even get to the boss to do any damage... I've seen plenty of Valks stood around in the middle of fights whistling a tune to themselves as if to say "sod that for a game of soldiers". I really want to be a fan of Nibelung, but I can't bring myself to deal with the RNG. So much so that when I won it last week I swapped it for the Ring of Rapid Ascent...
The only time this happens is when I've got no entry on a mobs agro table and the one they proc'd on went down. That is trash and quickly remedied, but on a boss they come out of the proc swinging so to speak. Having more then 1 up at a time is like a free heroism so honestly I love the staff to death. It also happens more often then you think.
My feelings about it are this:
It IS more RNG we don't really want to deal with but at least it's an RNG that does not even remotely affect our rotation. Whether one procs or not you still do the same spells. This makes it an RNG that is more then worthwhile to me.
It's like getting a weapon with a 2% chance to apply a 27k dmg dot.
The Valks self heal for a tremendous amount of self heals (25% of their health every 1.4 secs on their own, or 2.25k HPS self healing) causing them to live through most raid wide damage except anything that would kill them outright which shows up far less then you would think.
With none procing I can do 9k dps on Fester. With 3 procing during a fight I can hit 11k. Sure that is a 2k swing but I am in a casual guild and 9k or 11k I'm still up at the top of the meters so I won't break a sweat.
Sure you can have dry spell where you get none procing but then you can get like 5 up at once and feel like a golden feathery god... I love when they are up.
In PvP it is hilarious to see them follow a healer around a corner and keep the healer from drinking. Sure you can't control it but it is a happy happenstance when it does.
In the end it essentially comes down to preference but take this into consideration. If your raid is only capable of 90k dps (fake numbers but easy math woot woot) and the fight needs 100k, you will never reach that numbers with out a little flexibility. The type of flexibility that you see from weapon procs that are this powerful. Also consider this. The top boomkins in the world are using Nibelung on world firsts, They have many options available to them but you still see them using Nibelung.

How much haste without that abyssal rune?
If your gearing is what you say it is then you will definitely not need that point in Dreamstate and you can drop to 1-0 points in Intensity if you have a consistent source of replenishment.

In my boomkin set I think if i remember correctly I have 600+ haste. I was thinking of respeccing but I always forget, I started with this spec when i hit 80.
Thanks for all the advice btw :D

If you have that much haste you will will probably see a slight boost to your DPS if you run the Spyglass and the Sundial as your two trinkets. The crit is fairly more important until you hit the crit softcap, once you are post haste cap.
It's a small change but sundial, or even abyssal rune, is much stronger then that fetish as Les has mentioned.

Going to 4t10 will also allow you to make adjustments in your gearset around hit (which I found to be the only really annoying thing to deal with in ICC. Honestly as much as I loved MF being able to crit, and it took me a while to get over it, I really love the T10 set.
As long as you can reach the hit cap, which is "interesting" but not hard, and you are over the haste cap, Nibelung is well worth using and on paper is the strongest of the two options mentioned in this thread.
