What bugs me about the Blizz Store are the Gryphon & Wind Rider pets and the fact that you can't buy just the in-game pet. I don't want a damn plushie! Would love for Blizz to sell just the pets for the $10 that they sell the other pets for.
I think the gryphon plushie is cute but the in-game pet is ugly. I think the wind rider plushie is ugly but the in-game pet is cute. What am I to do?

Had a nice little debate about this over a game of pool with a non-gamer last night.
I stated what's the difference between buying an ingame mount & buying alloy wheels for my car? Has absolutely no effect on the performance of the machine, purely aesthetic. Simply whenever I walk to my car in the morning / log on I just think "nice!".
Still I won't buy one - £15 is a little too much for my liking. Bought the monk chap as a % of proceeds went to make a wish :)

You guys are idiots for spending $25 on a pretend horse.
Personally, I prefer spending $15/month on my pretend gear and my awesome pretend 2-h sword. tyvm.
Can't you see that pretend armor makes waaaaay more sense than pretend horse? can't you?

I really dont see what the big fuss is anyways. If you got the money and if you want it then go for it. There was a ton of people criticizing on how people are stupid to buy that mount from the Blizz store and wasting their life on a game but garentee those are the same people who sit in trade and just troll... a good 80% of them.

Hate to spoil your analogy, but there's a lot of differences. Alloy wheels provide a benefit to the performance of the car, aren't prone to rust, (generally) won't bend on heavy impact and will overall probably save a little bit of of money in petrol given the increase in performace... as well as looking good. Oh, and they have a resell value. IP doesn't, especially when it can't be transferred to different accounts.
Paying money for this mount (whilst it is entirely the buyers choice and I respect that) is purely aesthetical and therefore, how can I put this without insulting a lot of people, only the materialistic will get more out of the game for riding one over the standard available in game mounts.
If you pay a subscription to WoW and you judge people for paying the Celestial Steed, remember that you're both exchanging real currency for virtual property.
You pay a monthly fee to play the game, not obtain IP. Whilst playing the game you can collect items as you go along, but it's not the be all and end all of WoW. Some people like to play to get the best epics and show off, some people like to play with friends and enjoy the social aspects of the game. In either case, you are not paying for any items in game by paying for the monthly fee, only the ability to log on to the Blizzard's servers and play.
BTW, if you haven't gathered already, I most certainly will not pay my hard earned cash for something which I have plenty of already on my main, but as I said earlier, I respect other people's choices to. I just hope this doesn't go too far on Blizzard's behalf forcing us to buy IP to progress/upgrade characters. Keep it completely aesthetic and there's no problem.

Why are they idiots if it's something they enjoy? They might collect mounts and think it is cool. So don't bash anyone else just because you think it is stupid.
Missing teh sarcazm - yer doin it rite. ;)

But the point was, there is no difference in spending money on an in-game cosmetic item or something in real life. And of course it can't be transferred to different accounts, it's BoA, which also means that EVERY character you have on that account, can get the mount. I would rather have it BoA instead of bind on a single character.

Of course there is a difference. One is IP, something that is not real, a pretend item that actually does nothing more than you can already get in game... the other is a real item with real value. I don't want to argue, but how can you compare the two?

If you change it, the playerbase will complain.
That is all.
