The most recent thing from the pet store does impact me. That stupid &^$% Celestial Steed makes me want to hit everyone I see who's on one.
It causes such a reaction in you - but you've failed to say how it impacts your game experience, other than eliciting a completely irrational response from you.

I'll give you some facts: <snip>
Can you back that up with some hard data? Everything that I can find regarding Activision-Blizzard (since Blizzard's stocks are now part of Activision's) show that their stock has increased 19% over the past year; they just announced a week ago that they are on track to beat their earnings projections from the start of the year.
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/activision-blizzard-raises-year-earnings-view-2010-04-15
Where does this leave the players? Well, it's a load of sh*t that Blizzard have resorted to this sort of cheapness in order to make money. But they don't care about that, as long as they get away with it. And judging by the amount of money they've made in such a short time, they are getting away with it.
All supposition, unsupported by any hard data. They're a business; why is it that people consider it "cheapness" for a
business
to make money, especially when that money gets reinvested in the business to improve the end product?
Now, the game is sufering with social skills at this moment in time, caused by battleground dungeons.
Huh? What does "sufering with social skills" mean, and what's a "battleground dungeon"? Regardless, you're again basing the entirety of your statements on supposition and opinion.
If you really want them to get off their a*se and put some real effort back into Wow, you need to ignore the pets and mounts which Blizzard want you to buy. Otherwise, they'll let the gameplay slide even more knowing that it doesn't really matter as there's always the pet and mount store to fall back on when times get tough!
This is just so patently contradictory, I'm not sure where to begin. You claim that Activision-Blizzard is losing money (when their public financial reports show the contrary), but then go on to say that the only way to help ensure they improve their game is to
not
invest in the company?
Of course, the entirety of your post becomes clear at this point: You don't like the changes that Blizzard has made in the game, so of course the game play is sliding. Your post becomes yet another "QQ tehy borked mah game!" whine.
That's your opinion; I feel that they've made a number of huge improvements to the game - and the improvement in the company's stock seems to back up the concept that people like the change.
All you're doing by buying these items is bailing out Blizzards failure to keep the success of Wow going. Don't fall for it, tell them to stuff their pets and mounts and force them to put their money into what they designed in the first place - gameplay!
You mean, like developing yet another huge expansion that will completely revamp game play and breathe new life into the original world of Azeroth?
You provide no data to back up your
facts
opinions. Thus, that is exactly what they remain - your opinions.

Blizzard is a games-business. Nothing wrong with that, of course. You need the business bit to be able to do the games bit. But it is a question of emphasis. Once most of the emphasis goes onto the business aspect the game aspect suffers, and that not good for the game. Too much emphasis on the game aspect and the business aspect suffers, which is very bad for the game as without money it ends.
Right now, the emphasis (as far as I can tell) is not too much on one or the other. Sure, you can buy some ingame stuff (which you could do for years through lootcards and UDe-points), but that hardly impacts the game. So there are a lot of steeds. So what? Give it a couple of days/weeks and the number of steeds will lessen. Blizz has more money which means more game. Good!
Furthermore, I believe in supporting the franchise. The more money something makes, the more the money-(wo)men (who have no beauty in their souls, but a lot of money) will invest, which leads to more movie, series, games, expansions etc.

Proof, its affecting someones gameplay. At the very least you're not getting into my groups if I see you on TRH. I mean if you can't be trusted to make good decisions in life how can i trust you in a raid?
lol whatever you say dude, what is your toons name? are you horde? I'll gladly add you to ignore right now just to avoid a *!@#$%bag like you. Could care less if I couldnt get into a random or even a raid with my mount. And who are you to say my decision to buy the mount wasnt a good one for me? Its ok you probably dont make good money like all the others who @#$%^ like this so ill just leave you alone and let you cry in the corner. I love it "omg you spent $25 on a mount your life priorities suck!" "yeah well when I make $35/hr it doesnt really matter" "omg you suck at life!" keeo on with that @#$%, my CELE loves the tears

:P Uh, if you read the comments, the guy admits that this piece was produced intentionally to "troll overly-sensitive WoW players.
The fact that you claim you aren't going to group with someone based on something in that video shows that you've missed the point as much as many of the people who got !@#$ed-off that the video was making fun of them.
What you've just said is as ridiculous as demanding that people show you their pets list, and kicking anyone with the Li'l KT pet from your raid.

LFG ICC25! 6K GS REQ. IF YOU HAVE THE C STEED, YOU CANNOT APPLY. MOMMY ONLY GAVE ME 20 BUCKS.
QQ. Stop trying to troll. The mount has nothing to do with raiding. You're just being stupid.
tl;dr Go away troll

Except that Video was out the first day the mount went on sale; I mean, I watched it that night after I bought my horse early in the day.

Umm, ~13million subscriptions, plus the release of the next expansion this year. Of course they're going to break their earnings record........
I agree; that's what I'm saying. I was responding to a post wherein the person claimed that Blizzard was losing money, that they were dropping subscriptions, and so on, which is in fact the exact opposite of what the available data shows.

The pet store doesn't impact the game any more dramatically than a slight nerf or buff to any random racial ability.
So basically I agree that it impacts the game in the way the OP describes, but I just don't give a @#$% because it's so minor.

Do you, or someone you know suffer from TRH envy? Well, now there's hope. You too can commit suicide or homicide as the case may require. Don't keep suffering from TRH envy, end it today.
There, fixed it for you.
I can make opinionated, sarcastic comments too, mom!

oooo... i hit a nerve... i feel giddy ;)
Also the argument that some people can't afford the mount borders on preposterous. I mean, we already pay $15 a month. If you can't afford TRH, I doubt you could afford WoW.
Do you, or someone you know suffer from TRH? Well, now there's hope. You too, can commit suicide or homicide as the case may require. Don't keep suffering from TRH, end it today.
WARNING: Suicide may result in death. Homicide may result in penalties, including but not limited to, fines, pound you in the #&* prison time, and death.
Not really dude but if youre gonna try to judge someone saying they have their @#$% messed up because of a measly $25 then you need to grow the ^&*! up, youre just like qwerty now saying theres better @#$% to buy or need your priorities straighten out. Again, you wanna #$%^& and cry about someone buying a mount that doesnt affect gameplay at all then maybe you shouldnt be playing MMOs at all because everyone has a store with far worse items that actually do affect gameplay. But yet youll still keep on with the same tired argument so I guess ill just leave it at that, damn I feel like !@#$ now for spending that $25 even though I have 2 cars that arent even 2yrs old yet completely paid off, a house, a family, a pool, a hottub, a lawnmower that probably costs more than what ever the &*!@ it is your driving....yup gonna miss that $25 damn couldve filled half of my tank on my Cobra.
