So much fail here - as expected - that it's hard to comprehend.

No kidding. I haven't seen this much fallacious logic since the last time I visited a fundamentalist's "young earth creation evidence" website.

The only concern I have is, do I have to buy one for each character or will it be like the BOA pets? If its the former I am not buying one unless they are ridiculously cheap (like $5).
It will probably be like the pets; one for your entire account.

this is the only valid point in this entire thread, everything else is too much crying over nothing

IT'S A GAME MADE BY A COMPANY WHOSE #1 PREROGATIVE IS TO MAKE MONEY.

Selling stuff (pets, mounts, whatever...) that is not obtainable in game makes it unfair to some players who cannot afford to spend the extra money.
And there are people who want to play WoW who can't afford to do so; should Blizzard make the game free to play as well?
This isn't "unfair" in any way; the items are not required.
Everyone loves cool mounts and its an important part of the game, everyone should have equal chances of getting them with skillzz (or pure luck) not credit cardz.
Mounts are an integral part of the game; important? Possibly. But mounts are still available; your argument falls apart at that point, because you're insinuating that people couldn't possible play the game without having this mount, and that's patently untrue.
As for everyone having an equal chance of getting them - what about Joe Brown, who can only play one hour a week? He'll never likely get a chance to get Invincible, because he'll never be able to reach Arthas! Poor him - we should give it a chance to drop from
any
enemy!
</sarcasm>
I apologize if that sounds harsh. These are not important parts of the game; they are purely vanity items. As soon as Blizzard starts putting gear in the store that is better than what you can get from raids and other runs, you'll have a point. Until that time, these complaints are based on a false sense of entitlement.

The problem here is that everyone pays to play!

really? "unfair?"
As i mentioned, IT'S A GAME. having these items does not impact your ability to achieve anything in THE GAME. Your ability to function within the game is not hurt if you are unable to get the item.

And there is no one there to make it equal, no matter how loud you scream.
As Orwell said in
Animal Farm
, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."
Or, as Heinlein puts it, "TANSTAAFL*!"
*There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

I don't see any particular problem with them selling mounts, non-combat pets, or really anything under the sun that doesn't give a person any advantage in game.
It's all cosmetic so the need to be "fair" doesn't really exist. If you want to be pretty fork over the cash. If you can't afford or don't want to be pretty, nothing bad happens to you at all.

In my opinion that element of luck is what makes this issue so contentious.
Based on the responses thus far, I'm not certain I agree; so far, most of the posts I've read have been, "Since we can't afford it, it should be available in-game, or it's not fair!"
If what you say is true, then I have slightly less of an issue with it; I still find it a rather silly thing to be upset about, though.

If you can't afford to spend $25 on something you really want, something tells me you have much bigger problems than not getting some flashy pixels in a computer game.
Also going along with that is that some of us do not have time to spend raiding endlessly hoping to get the rare mount drop and then have to compete with 24 other people for it. I don't have a lot of time to raid and will never get a rare raiding mount, but I do have $25.

My only complaint is that the mount looks incredibly fugly.
Now if it was some sort of protodrake (maybe in a style similar to the frostwyrms) or the (cheaper) option to make any of your existing mounts 310% speed then yeah I'd buy it.
inb4 billions of 'hurr you suck and everyone in my guild has x of mount' e-peen waving
