WotLK fails in general due to the lack of things that were promised but not implemented, easiness of most things in general and (in my opinion) poor design of areas (I mean, just look at Icecrown, its boring as hell with the almost straight area in the middle which serves no purpose; or look at Crystalsong, it's basically an unnecessary zone). I am not even mentioning Azjol-Nerub was put into game as 2 crappy dungeons.
And you know.... 'there must always be a Lich King'.......

Some class spells that were to be implemented In WotLK will appear in Cataclysm (hopefully). So maybe we get the dance studio.

I was looking forward to the Dance Studio indeed, but the pleasant surprise of the Dungeon Finder made up for it, without doubt. The way the Emblem system is at now (token system in ICC) is great, as is the way new people can gear up, and always be somehow in reach of the higher tiers.
Overall, I have been enjoying the expansion a lot. WoW is getting better and better.

Let's not forget about Death Knights...
Pre-WoTLK:
"OMFG DKs will be SO OP! Cant wait for WoTLK!"
Nowadys:
"LF1M Tank and 3 DPS for
NO DKS ALLOWED."
"Starting a pemade to farm BGs! All welcome but DKs!"
"LFM random dungeon farming, need tank and 1 DPS, no dks please"
"<The Darkspear> are now recruiting! We are a heavy RP guild that welcomes any trolls of any classes except DK.(...)"
1-"Which spec should I choose for my DK?"
2-"Retri."
1-"-.-"

We still get to kill the Lich King! But nope; We didn't even really kill him.
We didn't? Oh-oh, someone is in trouble then...
Tirion - Are you sure he is dea..
Bolvar - Yes, he's dead, now place the damn crown on my head!
Tirion - Suit yourself.
Arthas, moments later - Awwww, my head... Wait, who's that frozen guy? AND WHY IS HE SITTING ON MY THRONE? WITH MY CROWN? CURSE YOU, TIRION! AND YOU TOO, BOLVAR!
So, I guess we all know what happens next...
Icecrown Citadel was merely a setback!

Wow was just a setback. The story would be more epic if it were Warcraft 4 and you were playing by your self and not with a pack of random people.

How was Ulduar lame?

Potential.
WotLK has so much potential for sidelines, for quest chains that can end in instances. Whisper Gulch, the Frostborn, the Taunka. That area underneath the Icecrown Citadel, tied with the spider kingdom. Nordrassil, the fallen world tree, only tentatively linked with Ulduar.
So much potential just sitting there, begging for attention. But, Blizzard have to move on. If they revisited all these areas, we'd never see the end of WotLK.
The demise of the Lich King
I want him gone, not replaced. The Scourge must end! The Scourge must be removed from Azeroth, not just held in check. What the heck is Bolvar's problem? He controls the Scourge, he can end the Scourge. He has the power to destroy the Scourge. We will not always need to have a Lich King, if there is no more Scourge. Does he want help to remove the Scourge? The Alliance and the Horde will willingly help to destroy Arthas's legacy.
Bahhhh, a cute twist to the story, Blizzard, but simply unnecessary.

death knights.....
no seriously, all undeads for that matter, are connected through necromantic magics that are connected to the big L. Even if the mind control is broken, the energies still come from the lich king. Thus they needed some reason behind them still being able to walk.

I missed the epic feeling of Warcraft serie.
When WotlK was announced, I and many people I knew were like "$%^& YEAH! Finally we get to finish the epic story of Third Warcraft and move along!"
<Spoiler alert BTW!>
But... No, we didn't really finish it. After lame naxx & lame Ulduar we got a slap in the face in the form of ToC and FINALLY! The big boss! The Icecrown Citadel! What did we get? A medicore semi-hardcore raid which is even easier than some of the earlier WLK raids, gear level aside. Okay, we said... We still get to kill the Lich King! But nope; We didn't even really kill him.
<End of Spoiler>
Naxx was just a opening raid, seeing as blizz was trying to make raiding even more open, and the fact that few had seen it during the Vanilla. I had never stepped into Naxx befor Wrath ( and TBH it was the first proper raid I did)
Ulduar IMO was one of the best instances that blizz has pumped out. It had originality ( a Vehicle boss, sure he is old now, but he was cool when I first went in there). It had many optional bosses, many diffreant achivs u could do after u had killed the instance in ez mode, along with intresting hard modes. The Yogg saron 5 diffreant difficulty mode was an great idea. He (with 0 watchers) is still one of the hardest bosses in game, even after 2 patches of gear)
ToC Was, I think, mostly a filler raid to give blizz more time for ICC/Cata. Sure the normal mode can be steamrolled though these days, but AnubĀ“arak HC 25 i still tricky to master.
ICC , IMO was by all not a dissapoinment. It has originality ( Gunship figth, comon we get freeking Jetpacks), It has a great drak feeling to it and the bosses are generaly tricky ( if u think that ICC is semi-hardcore, do Sindragosa , putri and LK on hc.... have fun :D)
Also IMO opinon the thing blizz did with raiding was a large improvment. Adding hardmodes for the hardcore guilds while giving the casual guilds normal mode was one of the best ideas blizz has gotten, seeing as it lets all the players see what Blizz made.
As for the ending of the Lich king, i wasnt dissapointed, though it would have been more intresting to add a NPC that did somthing to help us like akam and Maiev did in the Illidan Figth.
also, on another reply in this thread that said that the zones were lackluster ( Fellshock i think it is), i have one thing to say: Go to Grizlly hills and try to tell me thats a bad looking zone. Also I think that icecrown is a very fitting enviorment to the feel, its a frozen wasteland ruled by a guy that wants evrything dead. Havnig it dull and lots of Ice in it is preety much fitting.
