I'm sure everyones stood in some bad stuff - all it takes is a seconds inattention, and some of those things are fully capable of taking a character from 100% to 0% health in about a second. But how do expect a priest who's concentrating on healing, dpsing or staying out of the bad stuff themselves to notice and react in time if you make this mistake? Whatever lifegrip is for, its not for this. In fact I'm not sure what its good for - do even the game designers have any idea?

It sounds really bad in my ears and I hope they change it before we see cat. Unless mechanics change a lot in the game I won't even put in on my hotbar. I have enough spells there already.

And on the other hand, why should only Shadowpriests have to take the penalty when they already lost Abolishing Disease in Shadowform, and Misery?
This makes me laugh every time I see it because it wasn't till WotLK that we could use Abolish Disease in Shadow Form and now they're like, "well I guess it's time to take that away", I wonder if we will get it back in 5.0 :P
Exactly, enabling us to use Abolish disease in shadowform which we asked for quite a while, and Blizzard finally agreed. It gave us a bit more importance/something different to do without being penalised for doing so, (besides the gcd.) And now taking it away again and possibly penalise the use of said utility does not encourage most players to use it.. We are still a hybrid, if they take away our utility where are we? So, if they take away said utility because it fits more into certain classes being able to dispell certain things, add new utility..
ALL non-healing specs for hybrids get two dispel types, while ALL healing specs for hybrids get three.
Letting Shadow priests keep Disease, Offensive Magic, and Defensive Magic is not only unbalanced in comparison to the other hybrids it's also unfair to Healing spec'd priests.

It's also a great tool to annoy someone to hell in a raid.
I'm certainly never raiding with a single priest I don't trust again. The risk of getting yanked out of my rotation "for the lulz" isn't worth it. At least make it possible to "opt out" of being life-gripped lol

If we get a retarded tool for a level 85 spell, that also allows us to grief, you'll be damn sure we're going to spread our loss around.
Hell if we get enough of the other classes to whine, they'll hopefully gives us something else in exchange <3

Well if you have time to throw a PW:S on a raid/partymember, when they are in danger (which I have at the moment.)
True, got me thinking - when you're healing, you just watch healthbars. You could treat Leap of Faith as another heal - if you see a dpser's or another healer's health going down fast, use this instead of a more conventional spell.
But you'd have to train yourself not to use it on a tank, as this would normally be disasterous. But I still don't see this being that useful. Personally I don't think they should be adding any new spells with Cataclysm, just refining existing ones (but thats just my opinion).

Don't you priests already abuse Holy Nova? HELLO? ZERO THREAT?
Mage sheeps target.
Priest Holy Novas target
Mage gets eaten alive
Wake up people! You already have a wonderfully abusable tool. If someone is running an addon like BigBrother that announces CC breakers, you'll get busted. But so what? The only good mage is a dead mage IMO.
Tools are for usin'.

So many ignorant people.. it seems to me like people aint looking at their screens when playing? no wonder 50% of trials get kicked before trialperiod is over for
moron
mistakes.
cant you watch multiple things at the same time or something? i mean.. srsly
<wall of text deleted>
...anyhow, life grip/leap of faith is a good spell. if you cant see that ill just wish you GL farming normal dungeons for the rest of your wowcareer
<If you are at the lvl where you make the tactics, well hey you might get 30s extra cuz you could save somebody to see more spells and understand how they work!
<If you are at the lvl where you raid for first kills but dont make mistakes, there's always the occasional moron which looses focus now and then and screws up.
<If you are at the lvl where you raid for fun, but not for firsts(or are building) you'll have plenty of unfocused morons to save

For the people that get lost in their bars, it's usually just a case of poor UI design imho.

Its almost a necessity given the way the game is designed now. A tank can go from 100% to 0% health in under 5 seconds, even if they do everything right, a dps in half that time. You have to watch healthbars very closely pretty much at all times. Apparently they intend to change that Cataclysm, we'll see.

What about this?
2's arena team, Disc/Blood (we don't know what will be viable, so priest/DK will be fine)
CC the DPS to the other end of the field from priest. Priest lifegrips DK deathgrips healer is on the opposite side of the arena from the DPS, gets own't. peace out, brah.

That, and being a little bit baked while playing can cause tunnelvision

You can also get tunnel vision from a pituitary adenoma. :-)
