This is true, I have often thought of this. I want to be speced for raiding, but at the same time I do alot more heroics than I do raids due to the nature of raiding(scheduling limitations). Time will tell. You never know, I could go back to my old spec and hate it. lol.
And in terms of raid survivability...Vindication is WAY SWEET! I had always overlooked it...It's one thing Im afraid to give up now.
And also someone earlier had asked me if I can cast hand of sacrifice in under 2 seconds to save a raid member...and I say no, becuase I normally cast Hand of Protection instead...and Yes I can do that in a split second with my key bindings. Is HoS better than HoP? If so I'll switch that around tonight. I figured HoP was better because it instantly stops all damage rather than transfering a portion to me.

Hand of Protection
will, by design, only stop physical damage. Unless you're using it on a fluke fight such as Saurfang (where all his raid-damaging attacks are bleeds/physical) you may be using it unnecessarily. It's probably a relatively safe assumption that most raid damage comes in the form of magical damage, which would be transferred to you by HoSac. Now, if there are adds loose on a healer fixing to beat on him, HoP would be a stellar option.

No I'm not a programmer, I'm on the other side of the tech world...I am an eletronics tech. So I deal with hardware rather software. Thank you for the input and insight.
I do have a question though. Everyonce in a while, when fighting a boss, for instance last night Saurfang did it...I'll pick up agro on the boss and after a couple seconds the bosses will target one of the hunters and run after it. It's ALWAYS hunters when this happens. I'm pretty quick to taunt when this happens...so although it doesn't kill anyone, it's just really annoying. I stress although it's rare when it happens...why is it always hunters? I don't know much about their class...do their shots have alot of threat?
Thanks,

Hunters do a lot of DPS and a lot of threat. In addition to that, their threat management skills are self-controlled. Most classes have a passive talent that reduces threat by a ton (hunters might too, not sure), but hunters main threat reduction comes from using misdirect and feign death (I think that feign death doesn't clear aggro, and that it goes back when you exit it. But it gives the tank time to get ahead more). Generally hunters are the most likely to pull aggro. Make sure that they are using misdirect on CD, watching omen to be ready to feign death, and make sure you watch omen also, so that you can slap a hand of salvation on them when they get too close to your threat.
In addition, you should make sure you put
Hand of Salvation
is on him if he continues to pull threat off you. Blizzard was kind enough to give us tools to use for people who don't know how to manage their threat.
FYI,
Feign Death
is an aggro dump and it has a 30sec CD (if not
Glyphed
) to it so there is no excuse for that Hunter to pull off you.

This is the macro that you use for Divine Sacrifice to cancel the part that damages you in one button (from Maintankadin):
#showtooltip Divine Sacrifice
/cast Divine Sacrifice
/in 0.5 /script CancelUnitBuff("player","Divine Sacrifice")
I'm Holy primarily, so sometimes I use my Divine Sacrifice with my Divine Shield and other times I don't. For those interested, this macro will do the same thing, you just have to hit the button twice (and of course, you have the option of only hitting it once to leave up the extra 40% reduction to party):
#showtooltip Divine Sacrifice
/cancelaura Divine Sacrifice
/cast Divine Sacrifice
Typically you'd want to save your Hand of Sacrifice for a tank cooldown. For instance, the other tank is dealing with Festergut during 3rd inhale, Saurfang is beating on the other tank during his Frenzy, the Lich King tank is about to eat a Soul Reaper, and etc.
However, that being said, BoP is a really nice cooldown to use on people late in the Saurfang heroic fight (<20%, I'd say) when a Marked target gets Boiling Blood. Those two in conjunction hit
really
hard, and BoP will block both of them. In any instance where you're trying to protect someone from physical damage, BoP will be really great, but if it's magical, you're better off yelling "SOMEONE HEAL BILLY!" or taunting the mob that's attacking him if it's not some sort of AoE or random target boss mechanic.
Like everyone has pretty much already said, Hunters are the highest threat class in the entire game, which is why they're pulling off of you. If they're pulling off in the beginning, make sure you have your Hunters and Rogues misdirecting/ToTing you on the pull. Also, remind your Hunters that they have Feign Death, and that they should use it
before
they pull aggro. :)

Chill of the Throne
changes incoming damage to be more constant.
This constant damage requires constant heals. Unlike TOC where I could mitigate for 45 seconds or longer without needing a heal. The bosses in ICC hit for less spiky damage but more predictable damage.
Nothing in ICC has hit me as hard(spiky damage) as the bosses in Ulduar.
I do not need Divinity or 2/2 SA for ICC do to the constant heals being applied.
This discussion is going round and round with no real focus point other than flaming.
I vote to lock this thread.
edit: added how the damage thought related to the spec questions.
